When we got here there was candy all over the floor. There was no lights in the room expecpt in the bathroom. Our toilet didn't even go down. The refrigerator didn't even stay cold. The deadbolt on our sliding door didn't work and our security bar didn't even go down in the hole to keep the door locked. Our view for our window was horrible, we had air conditioning units right in front of our balcony.

So I'm elite with Marriot yet I like to travel on a budget. I'm not super picky but if certain things are bs then they should be stated...I have done the carribean cruise line "Scam" that has had so many BAD reviews but that trip turned out to be FUN! so therefor with all these bad reviews, I wanted to start off thinking positive as we paid CHEAP so I was not expecting 5 star. So if you are, then book a hotel $100+ (at its lowest) a night. Also it was oceanfront hotel so why not book that? Anyways got to airport and took $45 cab ride to hotel. Dont do shuttles as that is $50 per head where taxi is $45 total. If there are others going down to area then carpool with them to save money. Upon arrival, hotel sign was missing-totally ghetto. Got to check-in an hour early so that was nice. room 501. the ice maachine on our floor was working. there is ac in the lobby but it is hot in the hallways. hotel could def use some renovation. That smell everyone was talking about was on and off. sometime it smelled like the beach, or air freshner or one time is smelt like complete YUCK. Nothing too much to ruin the trip.
Room-not too shabby upon arrival. nice king bed. yah ghetto furniture but whatever. couch and table. old tv with cable. remote. balcony-the view was perfect! that overpowered everything. ac was working and good. water pressure only let you get 15 min of WARM water.

Restuarant and pool- did not use pool but decent sized and looked clean. Hotel had good food but it is pricey and salad i got did not come with everything but the waiter was nice and gave 10% off. the bar gets hoppin at night. loud music til midnightish. our room was opposite side so it wasnt a bother nor would it had been if we had a closer room. depends on your prefrence i guess.
then the b.s happened:

Maid Service- non existent to sloppy. First day there was NONE..really? yah i understand its off season but people are still paying to stay in your hotel room. Had to call to get towels. Second day they came in and changed towels, did NOT leave Toliet paper as that was out and had to call and they never brought it. They did not fix the bed just brought towels. Third day a girl came to door bout 3pm just for towels and finally asked her for t.p. maid service is horrible, the worst i ever encountered.

BUGS-2-3rd day notice ants were crawling all on the nightstand and some on the bed. GROSS. yah i get i dropped a piece of cookie but obviously there were ants in there. I went to counter and talked to manager and told him situation. These people are indian hindu or whatver ....he said the ants flew in from the sand...RIGHT...and that theres no more king rooms(only 12 in whole hotel) only queen. so he gave me key to 7th floor. went to that room and BAM key didnt work(i will get to that). so went to my room to call and they said they would call me back. I called 10 min later to see what happened and the hindu girl front desk said they had to check rooms so itll be half hour. I said im not waiting that long, im going to beach. never gotten a call or room change for next couple days.

Keys-had to go dwnstairs to get them reactivated mulitple times. they blamed it on cell phone. service guy did come up to change battery but like 3 hours later after calling.

Aside from the BS hotel, i loved this vacation. If there werent any ants then the hotel would have been fine but added that with the BS customer service, I am rating that a 0 and am giving a 1 just for the location because location is great and ocean view is awesome. This hotel should be torn down or needs an actually renovation.

Website for this hotel is totally deceptive. The rennovations mentioned that took place in 2010 are questionable. Hotel staff was not friendly or very helpful. There were 4 of us in our room. Both nights they only gave us enough towels for 2 people. Had to work the system to get extra ones. Speaking of the towels, they were small and threadbare. Make sure the band isn't playing in downstairs bar during your stay. They played from 7:30 pm - 11:15 pm and sounded like they were right in our room. Bar music after the band was quieter but still loud. My 3 1/2 yr old and 18 mos old did not get a lot of sleep during this stay. Don't fall victim to a good price/deal right on the beach. It's not worth it.

A friend set up this annual friends trip and paid in full up front or we would have left immediately..... from the moment we arrived, it was a horrible experience. The sliding patio door was broken, could not be locked for safety, and the air conditioner (filthy vent) poured out disgusting water & very hot air so that it was not possible to sit out on the patio. When we went to put clothing in the drawers, there was some sticky brown liquid all inside one drawer. The VERY OLD television did not work at all. Management cleaned out the nasty drawer, with no apology at all, almost a surly attitude. The maintenance staff who fixed the door (had to take TOTALLY OFF and get another man to help hold the sliding off-the-track doors), traded out TVs, fixed a non-working lamp and several other problems on 3 different occasions ( just a 3-night stay) were very helpful and capable -- obviously they had LOADS of experience fixing just about everything. The towels were threadbare, stained and we had to ask for enough for each person! One day of our stay we did not receive any maid service, though we had requested it (twice) and were assured they had scheduled it. And to top it off, our room door to the hall did not lock properly (would not stay closed) and had to be fixed by the excellent maintenance staff.
Management was indifferent, evasive and were uninterested in pleasing customers. There were no renovations, as promoted. Maybe they painted a few walls? Rooms very outdated and in barely working (if that) condition.
THIS PLACE IS A NIGHTMARE.... NOT WORTH IT EVEN IF THE STAY WAS FREE.
