“Expensive uncaring staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I had to stay in Woking on business for an extended time and the H.I. is a short walk to my office.

All I can say about the holiday in Woking is it is just a place to stay.

The food was OK, the room was OK and the staff were OK. Nothing spectacular.

Try the Premier Inn. Cheaper, better staff, by the canal and just a short walk out of town.

“Excellent for a Group Booking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I arranged for an 18 piece recorder orchestra to stay for 4 nights at this exceptional Holiday Inn. The service I received right from the start of the booking was professional, efficient and friendly. The staff are this hotel's best asset and we were all impressed with the courtesy and helpfulness we received throughout our stay. This is an attracively decorated hotel, the rooms are large, clean and pleasant and the beds wonderfully comfortable. We had booked an evening meal for every evening of our stay and I was sent menus a month before our arrival. Each menu was well thought out, varied and different for every evening with fish, meat and vegetarian options. The quality of the food was so good and the chefs had obviously given a lot of care and thought to our needs. They coped well with a difficult, special diet.
On the down side, the breakfast was probably excellent at 7am but by 8.30am it was cool, eggs were hard and bacon dried out. Be aware if you want a walk in shower that you will have a disabled room with a small Queen size double bed to allow room for a wheelchair. The rooms on the road side of the hotel can be noisy.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to families, business people and anyone else who wants a convenient, clean, comfortable and friendly place to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the road side of the hotel are noisy and disabled rooms have small beds.

Thank you very much for your feedback and especially the lovely comments about the courtesy and helpfulness of our staff, comments which have been passed on to the staff and very much appreciated. Your comments with regards to the breakfast have been discussed with the chef and it is only through feedback like this that enables us to focus on areas of concern and help us in our continuous thrive to maintain and improve upon our normally high stasndards of quality and service.

“Good Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Stayed two nights in December in their executive rooms.
Room was very comfortable, staff were pleasant and polite.
The only annoying part was the excessive parking charges for their Hotel Car Park although their is an adjacent NCP car park that is a good alternative.

I was very pleased to read your comments with regards to the comfort and services enjoyed during your stay at the hotel, but were sorry to see that you were slightly disappointed with our car parking facilities.
With 161 bedrooms and only 40 car parking spaces in our own car park there is little alternative other than to encourage our guests to use the adjacent public car park which only charges £ 1.10 an hour to a maximum of £ 8.00 for 24 hrs and they also offer a special overnight tariff of £ 1.10 between 7.00 pm and 6.00 am the following morning.

“Centrally place hotel 15minutes from M25”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Stayed at this hotel with group of people over 18/19 December. The hotel is easy to find, just as you drive towards centre of town. The building is big, new and quiet imposing. Reception is modern and very efficient the staff polite and on the ball. Some of the group wanted a quick meal the restaurant was closed on Sunday but some managed a quick bar meal, though others were not so lucky as service was a little slower than was wished but the food was good and no complaints were made re the quality. Possibly with a large group it was a little difficult to cater in the time available. The rooms were of usual H.I quality, clean well appointed with the usual hot drink options. With bath and shower the bathrooms again net your needs.
We were a little disappointed as the bar closed at 11pm we got back a little later but were looked after by the night team and didin't go to bed dry!! However the bar prices are steep so be warned to have extra cash / card on hand if you want a couple of drinks!!
Breakfast was a good choice continental with options to upgrade at a price that was not going to break the bank. The full breakfast option again was of good quality and choice. No complaints received there at all. The hotel is only about 10-15mins from M25 with easy links either via M3 or M4 into London. It is close to Thorpe Park, Windsor, Legoland etc so quiet well place for the tourist sort of areas. It maybe not your first choice but well worth considering if the right rate can be found. Highly recomended would consider this hotel again if in this area.

“Good hotel but not cheap.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Well this is your standard holiday inn hotel.

Perfectly adaquate, very clean, comfortable and everything you would expect of a holiday inn hotel.

Location is good but it comes at a price.
