Stayed for one night 16.11.11. The staff here are excellent in every way. They are extremely sociable and welcoming and more importantly genuine with it. The Hotel itself is perfectly adequate but feels quite boarding school or institutionalised. The Bar was excellent and comfortable without being too big. I imagine if you picked it on a busy night though you would be pushed for seating and room. My room was spotless and had everything I needed. The bed was adequate and being on the top floor was very quiet. I imagine you would hear a lot of squeaky floorboards if you stayed on the first floor. Breakfast was extensive with the full english offered or making up your own combination of choice. Buffet style toast machine, cereals and fruit juice. They also have a couple of small TV's in the dining room showing the morning news which was excellent and a nice touch.
Surrounding area seems a bit grotty and in some places 'threatening'. The Hotel though is in a little oasis with parkland and its own large car park. If you are a social leper like me you will be pleased to note there is a dedicated smokers area outside with awning.
To summise I would stay again for the quality of staff and location.
Room Tip: Stay on the second floor so as to not listen to squeaky floorboards overhead.
