“Total Disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Dont get me wrong the bed and breakfast part of the deal i booked was great.Hotel clean, spa was fantastic and breakfast plentiful and lots of choice. When i booked online the deal was for a romantic dinner bed and breakfast (10th -20th february)being near valentines day thought i would treat my OH.A friend of mine was attending a wedding and said she would have dinner with us but my OH wanted to have romance on our own.How shocked and disappointed we were when they sat us at a table of about seven at the back of the bar!!!!Romantic it wasnt,we were placed near the cutlery and condiments and was interupted several times by the waitresses. Why didnt anyone point out that this was going to be the situation? On leaving the hotel the receptionist asked how our stay was and i told her we wasnt happy with the romantic dinner. She sed someone should have told us but i booked online. She took our money without even an apology really not professional at all in my opinion and which should have been a lovely weekend got ruined!!!

Dear Giddy1968

Thank you for your review following your stay with us. I am sorry that you had not been told about the restaurant being closed due to a wedding booked in there. You are right you should have been informed that we had to move the restaurant to the bar area for the evening, I will speak with the people concerned to ensure that this does not happen again.
It is pleasing to note that you enjoyed our great breakfast, fabulous Spa and the room it’s unfortunate that we let ourselves down by not informing you of the changes we had made to the dining arrangements on Saturday.

Kind regards

“Lovely Hotel and Good value for money”

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 days whilst visiting Manchester. Nice hotel, clean, good spa facilities and lovely back drop of sheep in a field. Would stay again.

Dear Dimples

Thank you so much for your kind comments following your stay with us. We get so many compliments about the spa but I must say it’s the first about our neighbours the sheep! I will pass on your comments to the staff but I don’t know if I can to the sheep!
Thank you once again and look forward in welcoming you back soon.

Kind regards

“Excellent training facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

As a school we regularly book teacher training and conferences to be held at the Mercure Norton Grange Hotel. The customer care we receive when booking functions is first rate. In particular Lucy and Lisa cater for our every need and ensure the layout and timings are all as we request prior to arrival.

On the day of the event the staff are always on hand to cater for a last minute change or assist with the final preparations which results in a smooth running of the day. Whether it is teacher training or students attending, the Mercure staff look after each event 100%. I as the organisor would recommend using this hotel whether you are a school or a business.

“Overestimated - To be revamped”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Old fashion hotel to revamp.
Rooms on road side are noisy, not very clean (lot of dust on the bulbs...), beds are quite average and I had some trouble with teh shower in the bathroom.
In addition, very average restaurant: we had to wait a long time to be served (about 45mn to get he 1st course), meat too cooked... but quite good wine and recomlmendation from the staff.
Accor needs really to reevaluate the hotel and the level of service at the restaurant !
