my room was priced at 27.50 a night. Staff was v.friendly and helpful but the room was in v.considerable need of modernising. There were cracks in wall, dated and stained carpet, mould in shower and on curtain, missing banisters on stairway, the list is endless; the fresh bedding and towels had a funny musty smell to them.

Basically if your looking for luxury/modernised rooms at this hotel, at a so called, '3 star rating,' then it is advisable to pay no less than £40 per room, which was not stated in the advertisement on the website which I placed the booking on.

Horrific! Went for a weekend away with the girls, understandably, you pay for what you get. However, I wouldn't bother!

When we arrived, just from the outside we nearly turned around but thought we'd give it a shot. As soon as we got there the lady behind reception was extremely unhelpful. We had booked three rooms, tried telling us we had only booked two (even after it was confirmed the previous day). After getting another room booked, she showed us to our rooms which were supposed to be next to each other. These were actually dotted all over the building. When questioned her response was "well there in the same building!". One of the rooms was on the ground floor and the 'view' was the smoking area! Couldn't open the curtains as I dread to think who you might see, or who might see you! Room cleanliness was average until I actually got into bed and realised the quilt didnt have a sheet on it, just one over it! Pillows were ROCK hard!! Showers, like other reviews, dribble! Didnt feel safe as you could just push the door slightly and it would open.

When we complained due to the attitude of the lady which had served us, wanted to speak to the manager which apparently doesnt work on the weekends! Later on in the evening another gentlemen was at reception who was supposedly assistant manager was extremely rude to us after we again tried to resolve the situation! Refused to give us a refund on the room or even his name to make a formal complaint!!

All staff had the worst attitude and customer service was horrendous! If the staff had at least said sorry and offered us some sort of refund/solution I wouldn't mind, but the fact that all staff we came across had the attitude of 'I couldn't care less' was appalling.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Stayed here after travelling down to start work the following morning(Hoping to get plenty of sleep before work)This did not happen!!!!In the room beside ours the couple were having a domestic this was around midnight this went on for over an hour swearing,banging of doors etc it took the hotel an age to come and sort this disturbance out!!!!!! SO obviously the follow morning after 5 hours sleep i wasnt in the best of moods i then went for breakfast which was terrible full english with no bacon instaed it had a turkey steak WTF!!!There were 5 of us there and not one ate the beakfast worse ive ever had i say!!!I then complained about the noise the previous night to be told"I have an issue with them aswell!!!and that was it>The be all and end all of the place is DO NOT BOOK!!!! Its a proper dive and the food is even worse spend a couple of quid more and have a nice sleep and a hearty breakfast

I stayed in this dump last night for a night out in Essex with the girls. When we pulled into the car park there is a bright yellow porter cabin, labelled as hotel security?? The hotel is clearly very dated from the outside and the reception has a poster of the Queen with India symbols above!! Our room had a fire exit through it, which
basically meant anyone could access our room just by breaking some glass! Not very safe for 3 girls! The carpet had fag burns, it smelt, sheets and bedding were not clean! Trying to have a shower was like standing under a watering can!! Our friends were placed in a house across the road which had pest control traps in the room and the electric went whilst we were trying to do our hair!! I have not stopped itching since and have bites! DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!!!!
