Lacking more opportunities to chose from, my parents stayed here for 3 nights. After reading the bad review I was quite concerned how the stay would turn out to be. First good thing was that we could arrange while booking online not to have breakfast in the hotel and that reduced the cost of the room!
The staff was average, the room quite small but overlooking the extremely quiet garden where my parents could even watch foxes during the early morning.
The TV channels are limited and the lights were quite dark which made reading difficult but all in all we weren't disappinted.

I wouldnt normally bother writng a review, but felt on this accasion it was unfair to the staff of the hotel for me not to
when my son who i advised stay at the hotel found 2 reviews that didnt correspond with my stay at the hotel ,
i frequently visit the elderly home next door to the hotel and have found it neither sterile or dirty but very comfortable and clean
the staff are friendly ,caring but also professional , i also thought the breakfast was cooked beautifully ,
i had to leave one morning at 5am and it came natural for the staff to offer to cook breakfast even though breakfast dosent normally start till 7am i would recommend this hotel very higly to anyone visiting horsham

Firstly, this is not really a hotel. Its a B&B which has been taken over by people only interested in profit.

The welcome is rude, the hotel rooms smelly (my sink (room 10) smelt strongly of human excrement), the beds incredibly uncomfortable, the breakfast disorganised, tasteless and cheap.

I cannot warn against staying here enough, it is quite simply the worst place I've ever stayed in.

Usually when you stay in a B&B you can look forward to a warm welcome and a decent breakfast. And when you stay in a hotel you can look forward to cleanliness and space. Wimbleburst offers neither of these. I honestly don't know where to start to explain how bad it is. The place appears to be run by a rude Asian man and woman on behalf of two wealthy Asian women (apparently sisters). But no one seems to care about this place apart from whether its full or not. Have the owners ever actually tried sleeping in one of their beds here? Have the owners ever actually tried eating the disgusting breakfast? The answer has to be no as they are both, by far, the worst I have ever experienced.

To make the matters even worse, there was a wedding party in on the night we stayed there. They came back at midnight and had a party. They were in and out of the hotel, screaming, shouting, smoking. And absolutely nothing at all was done to ask them to be quiet. I know they didn't ask them because they confirmed so the next day.

Cheers.

We checked out after one horrendous night and drove 8 miles up the road to the Gatwick Ibis and had a great night sleep and wonderful buffet breakfast for £15 per room per night cheaper than the Wimblehurst!!!!

When I informed reception we wanted to check out after one night, they actually said "have you booked anywhere else because we don't want to say nah nah nah nah nah when you try and check in again, as we've done that before".

Nice.

When they got everyone's breakfast orders wrong the staff had a full scale argument in the adjoining kitchen. I could hear everything said. Basically the dizzy blonde waitress/cleaner/receptionist mucked it up and tried to blame it on the Asian man. She went on, and on, and on at him... and we had to sit there in the dining room waiting for the breakfast we'd asked for 20 minutes ago. No exaggeration here whatsoever.

I would write to complain but what would it get me, a free nights stay? You must be joking. I'd rather sleep in my car and I'd advise anyone to do the same.

Do not stay here, ever.

Shocking.

  • Liked — It was round the corner from the house we were clearing
  • Disliked — The smell in the sink in the room. The room didn't have a toilet. I dread to think about it now.

I'd never been to Horsham before and so relied on the internet to find my partner and I a decent hotel near to the pub my mom was running. This hotel came up looking kind of homely, smart, clean and ok. A bit overpriced for a double but it was only an extra £10 per night to have the family room so we went for the extra space.
We found the hotel easily and parked safely on its well lit front drive. The guy on reception checked us in fine and gave us the key to our room. It was on the ground floor right opposite the front door but luckily this caused no problems during our 3 night stay. The room was spacious and clean and had its own bathroom which was also ok.
We had no problems until the first morning when the maid knocked our door to clean the room and we said we wanted to stay in bed so no thanks. She then accused us of smoking in the room as we'd put a towel across the bottom of the door to block out the inch high gap allowing in light, noise and draughts. Then she informed us the manager wanted to see us. My partner duly went off to see the manager and it turned out he had tried to put our credit card details through without even telling us! We were not impressed with this as surely you should be there in person when payment is made? We always pay cash and its normally at checkout time!
We managed to keep ourselves to ourselves for the remainder of the stay thankfully. On our day of departure we had a knock at our door ten minutes before we were due to check out reminding us of checkout time, a lot like they wanted us out! Very rude! Even ruder was when we left : the poor maid was hoovering the hall outside our door whilst the owners wife stood guard watching her every move. The maid was obviously foreign and the owner was Asian and it was all a bit slave labour style. It was painfully obvious that the second we pulled off the driveway the owners wife would be in our vacated room like a shot to check we hadn't trashed it, stole the cutains, tv or kettle!
Could have been a nice place to stay if you weren't treated like some common trash who couldn't be trusted to adhere to rules, keep the room in order or refrain from stealing anything not screwed to the floor!!!
