It is now ten years since we first stayed at Moss Cottage, Pinner. Then we lived in Dublin. We liked the area so much we lived in Pinner for 4.5 years when my husband took a post there. Now we are in Naples, Italy and we recently returned to Moss Cottage for a few days. This is a really special place - the 19th century 'new' addition to a much older structure provides all the conveniences one needs for self-catering accommodation but in very traditional, beamed surroundings. The apartment has three bedrooms, all beautifully clean and prettily decorated. The sitting room and two of the bedrooms look out over a lovely garden with ancient trees (protected by heritage listing) and beds of roses. Squirrels play on the grass. The kitchen is a good size and the owners have thoughtfully provided everything the cook might need, dishwasher included. There is also lots of useful information about the cottage and the surrounding area. On our first visit we hosted friends there (we asked permission as a courtesy) and it was a wonderful place to welcome them. The owners are very helpful and yet leave one undisturbed to enjoy one's stay. Pinner is a 15 minute walk away with the tube connection to central London but the village itself is very appealing. We shall certainly continue to visit when we need Pinner accommodation.
