“En-Route to Cape Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We spent one nght at the Cumberland on 30th November and it was a very pleasant experience. In particular the Restaurant staff were excellent they worked very hard and remained alert during Breakfast, excellent. The bar and bar food were good value. The bedroom was spacious and catered for all our needs, the only problem was that the blankets in storage were not very fresh and therefore were not used.

Room Tip: Ask for a room which has hadthe blankets recently laundered.

“nice long weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

i was staying for a 3 night 4 day, long weekend with easy access for london and its attractions.
this is a really nice hotel for just that purpose. its only a couple of minutes walk from the rail/tube station, harrow on the hill, and you can be in central london in around 20mins. i also got a very good deal for my three nights, pricewise averageing out at £37 a night. great value i thought being so close to london.
it was my second stay here, the first time to attend a concert at wembley stadium for which its even better placed, literally a couple of stops, 10 minutes on the tube.

my room was comfortable and warm, and though the fittings may have been a little dated, they were perfectly adequate for purpose. it had all mod cons, hair dryer, trouser press, tv etc and more practically, a safe is provided, for which there's no rental charge. the staff, i found, were very friendly and helpful and available to answer any queries quickly and efficiently.

when not in london, harrow centre itself i quite modern and very cosmopolitan, with a good number of bars, cafes and restaurants that appear to cater to most tastes. it also has all the other usual trappings you'd expect, shopping centre, cinema complex etc for a modern town centre.

overall i enjoyed my visit very much and would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone.

“Pretty good but a bit noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Stayed here for one night on business and its OK value for money. The bedrom was warm but the bathroom cold, but leaving the door open sorted this. The room was clean and the bathroom was of a good standard with a decent shower and a bath. The decor was a bit knocked about.
I had a room in an annex overlooking the main road and without good double glazing this made the room very noisy from the passing traffic and this rather let things down. I expect if you can get a room not on the main road you will be more than happy with this hotel.

“Nice for a weekend stay!”

We were looking for a hotel on a budget of less than £100 a night BB and found this in a convenient location close to the shops.
The family room was more than adequate but we did have a problem with the heating - the radiators didn't work! However, the manager informed us that there was a problem with the heating in general but once sorted it was fine.
Our room was overlooking the courtyard at the back but we weren't expecting any fabulous views!
As there was no restaurant facility, apart from breakfast, we had to eat out, but that was not a problem as there were plenty of restaurants to choose from within walking distance. We can definitely recommend the Taste of China restaurant as the service and food were excellent. In fact they even found a table for six of us on a busy Saturday night without pre-booking, but I think it best to book for a guaranteed table.
In the morning we had a full English breakfast from the buffet and could eat as much as we liked.
Overall, we were really pleased with our stay and another Best Western that didn't let us down.

“Fantastic Budget Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

I came to London for a job interview and needed a place to sleep. I arrived at 10 at night and left at 7 in the morning. I expected a clean hotel with a comfy bed to sleep in, this is exactly what this hotel gives.

I stayed in a single room (112)

The room I stayed in had out dated furniture and fixtures. Many of these were very clean and in good condition. There were some stains/ cigarette burn marks on the furniture. The bathroom was lovely and modern, it was rather small but as I was only staying one night this was not a problem. The bed was very comfy and there were excellent tea and coffee facilities in the room (including herbal teas, normal tea and coffee and hot chocolate).

The staff were excellent, they were welcoming (even at 10 at night when I got there), extremely helpful and attentive.

Despite some minor issues with décor, this hotel is the perfect one night stop in London. I had an advanced rate £40 ish for a single room which is far cheaper than anywhere else. It is near a tube station in a safe area to walk at night (it is well lit).

I am rebooking for the next stage of my interview process! Well worth a stay for a base to see London or for one night stay – not suited for those who are expecting 5* rooms!

Fantastic Budget Hotel!
