“A spectacular Secret.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed overnight in this hideaway hotel to celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary. I was desparate for it to snow on our Wedding day but had to wait 29 years and boy did it snow!
A beautiful hotel in fabulous surroundings. We walked in the grounds around the hotel in the crisp snow after a lovely breakfast.
Our hotel room 108 was in the new block seperate from the main hotel and was clean, spacious and lovely and warm. I suspect the view from the window would normally be described as 'pleasant' but was transformed to 'spectacular' by the snow.
The staff were polite, efficient but a little reserved, especially the receptionist. However we met up with a very helpful, friendly bar manager when he helped us try to leave the grounds (we had a few attempts to get the car up the long driveway onto the main road). Would love to go there again.

Room Tip: rooms in the seperate block would be less noisy I suspect as the main hotel has weddings and Guilber...

“Well Worth The Money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The Opera Dinner is an experience not to be missed by any G&S fan. This former home to Gilbert is the perfect venue for his operas. The singers were excellent, the staff were great and the combination of venue, show and dinner worked perfectly for us. To top it off the rooms were only £50 when attending the dinner and were excellent value for money - spacious, warm, comfortable and clean. What more could any G&S fan ask for. We will definetely return.

Room Tip: The 100 series rooms are fine and very quiet.

“Good Place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We stayed here just one night as we were at a party close by and couldn't be bothered to drive. Booked on the day, got good rates although breakfast wasn't included. We were taken to a seperate block away from the hotel but it was very nice, clean and warm. The bar and breakfast area was lovely, breakfast reasonably priced and plentiful. A good stay and recommended.

“MEETING IN LONDON”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I decided on booking the Grim's Dyke hotel based on appearance and price. Although the hotel is not near the city it is conveniently located on the Metropolitan line. You need to get off at Harrow on the Hill and take a taxi to the hotel which will cost you approximately 10 - 15 pounds.
Travel time to London is 45 minutes.
The Grim's Dyke hotel is located in a woodland area with a golf course at hand. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. Tea and coffee available in the room.
Breakfast was good with a choice of Buffet or full English .
I will definitely return to the Grim's Dyke it's close enough to London but in the countryside.

“Excellent hotel and great value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Stayed for one night and as I come to the area for business often I will always stay here from now on. For £67 for the night it's great value. The room is clean and well appointed with a modern bathroom. The room service food was perfect and hot even though it had to be carried from the main house. If you need a hotel on a budget in the area this is the one.
