Stayed here for one night. The hotel is rated as 2 star and I suppose that's a fair pointer. The room was small - just 30cm between the end of the bed and the wall. The beds were very saggy - presumably after years of use. To be fair the bathroom was new and perfectly OK. Breakfast was a curious affair - I think we were the only guests that night and breakfast was in a room at the back, peeling wall paper, dimly lit and with "clutter" in the corner. You have to choose your breakfast and time the night before and it's either "cooked" or "cereal". This is as it says - one or the other, so if you've chosen cooked you don't get cereal to start. No orange juice either. We ordered tea and coffee. The coffee was from a machine at the bar and was good. No top ups were forthcoming so we asked for more tea. This was just hot water on top of the old teabags so was so weak as to be undrinkable. There were no offers of another cup of coffee.
On the very positive side we ate in the pub and it was very good. A modern convivial bar, great beer, very good food freshly prepared - they make the beefburgers to order. A very pleasant evening. I get the impression that the owners are working their way through modernising the place and they are very nice people.. The bar is great, the hotel is very much 2 star so you have to decide what you want and how much you pay.
