My wife and I were travelling through Switzerland for 2 weeks and wanted to spend a few days exploring around Sion and Martigny. The tourist office in Martigny recommended this place,because it was a modern 4 star hotel. BIG mistake. It has all the charm of a well-maintained public restroom, without the ventilation. That's right---there's NO room ventilation except for an open window, so you can choose between a warm stuffy room or listening to the autoroute and railway as you try to sleep. The rooms are the size of a college dorm room and furnished with cheap stuff. Both bath towels (yes ladies, one per person...) were frayed. We discussed moving out this morning but didn't want to spoil the day by spending it packing up and moving. We will definitely NEVER be back here and strongly recommend it be demolished rather than subject additonal unwary travelers to its tender mercies. RUN AWAY!!!!

Agree with other reviews. There is nothing terrible about this place but it is really a 2/3 star hotel - not 4.

Main issues:
- poor choice for breakfast
- low quality bed linen and towels
- non-smoking room smelt of smoke
- overall ambiance of the hotel is depressing. All florescent lighting and cheap office building finishes

Given that this is Martigny, it's not cheap.

Hardly a disaster for one night. But surprised to see Accor but a Mercure label on something like this.

Some 'youth hostel' charm due to the cheap furnishing. However if you don't expect flat screens but clean rooms, nice personnel and calm location you wont be disappointed. Watch out for a reasonable rate (eg. 3-Star Level)

Stayed here for two nights in January. We have visited Martigny before, staying at other places but decided to try this hotel because of the rating. We based ourselves here to go on the Mont Blanc Express down to Chamonix. Check in was efficient and the room was a reasonable size and warm . Those were the only plus points. The bed was hard with one small pillow each. There were two small sachets of cheap shampoo in the bathroom. The first night we ate in the restaurant and sent both courses back because they were so inedible. The waitress didn't ask if we'd like to order an alternative she just removed our plates. At breakfast the first morning the maintenance staff working at the hotel pushed ahead of us to get their own breakfasts while we stood and waited. The staff seemed totally indifferent to the guests and we would never return to this place. How on earth this hotel bills itself as 4 star I have no idea. The only thing that is 4 star about it are the prices. Do yourself a favour, stay anywhere but here!!
