This is a really charming hotel. We received a warm welcome by Denny the manager who was very helpful and spoke good English (useful for us as we don't speak any Swiss/German!). Our room (no. 33) was spacious, comfortable and cosy. We ate in the restaurant three out of four nights; the food was EXCELLENT and atmosphere very pleasant (our thanks to Selina whose service and friendliness was great). Breakfast was just what we wanted with delicious fresh bread and boiled eggs along with the usual European style cheese/meats, cereals and fruit. The sauna is lovely.
One point to note for future 'English speaking only' guests is that there is only one English audio channel on the TV, so take some other form of entertainment if you are planning on just chilling infront of the box in your room after a tough day on the slopes!
The nearby church bell chimes on the hour throughout the night but we got used to this after the first night!
The location is ideal for getting the ski bus. There are a couple of restaurants nearby plus a supermarket and bank. Laax is very pretty but as per previous reviews, there isn't masses going on in the village (but we were there over Christmas which would account for the quietness). However, this suited us and we would definitely return to this hotel.
