“I don't think so!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2007

Location was fantastic which is the only real positive I can say about this hotel. We stayed in a clean but very small room. You couldn't sit on the balcony or have the patio windows open because as well as being so closely overlooked the smell of drains was discusting. The hotel was old and dated a bit like the receptionists that greated us at the hotel reception.Everything was to much. Breakfast wasn't good either we decided after the first day we wouldn't bother getting up we would eat our however the evening meal was pretty decent not marvelous but decent. Entertainment was alright a few nights yet other nights you just had to go to bed or risk the headache. Blanes itself is a lovely old town but the some of the people arn't very friendly. The beach restaurants are great and the food in the resort is nice. I would like to say you get what you pay for but this hotel wasn't cheap. Wont be going back!

“near to beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2007

My partner and I stayed here full board for 1 week in june 2007, the Hotel itself is nice and clean and the staff are really helpful. We had a room at the back of the hotel and asked for a sea view, as soon as one was available we were moved, and it was worth it. The food isn't the greatest and there aren't very many really nice restraunts about, so if your not too fussy an eater you'll be ok. Also the pool isn't up to much, there is only about 5 sun loungers and its not very clean, but the beach is only a few steps away. entertainment a bit rubbish too. all in all it was a nice clean hotel.

Booked this hotel due to location, across the road from beach. Not disappointed.Rooms are clean and comfortable,if not large.Stayed at back of hotel where rooms overlook each other, not a problem if you don`t spend much time in it.Rooms cleaned daily ,towels also changed daily.Cleaners on duty all day cleaning communal areas so all hotel very clean.Dining room is small and tables are very close together which can result in some interuption of meals as diners push past.Food is continually replenished, the quality and variety is very good, and the grill chef is always busy.Best half board 3* I have had.Bar is large with outside area overlooking road. There is a dance area and there is different entertainment every night.Be warned , this hotel is very popular with the spanish so most of the entertainment is aimed at them, but the music acts can be enjoyed by all.Pool is small and on roof,so only used beach, but there are pools you can use on the camp sites which are close by.Bar prices are on a par with others, with special offers daily.Staff are friendly and helpful. If you want a hotel that is comfortable, centrally located, near the beach then this is for you.

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2007

I immediately fell in love with it in the brochure as it stated "beach front hotel" and thats exactly what you get! great location!
After arriving at hotel at 7am we were told we could not check in till 12pm but they issued us with a room fob to store our suitcases but when we arrived at this room we found 2 young girls going through suitcases so i was adamant i would wait in reception until 12pm with our bags.
The reception area is great (very big and very clean) and continues into bar area! was so nice to sit on the balcony in the bar over looking over to the sea. The rooms are average and have everything you need, maid comes everyday to give you clean towels and make beds!
I wouldnt even go in the pool as it literally is smaller than a box bedroom but a good tip is to go down the road to camping solmar and use that pool it is lovely and staff are very friendly. the entertainment is the best in the resort and has something for everyone! the food at the hotel was average and has something for everyone but then again i am fussy but had a good variety to choose from. the staff at the hotel did not understand english and were fairly rude but the bar staff on the other hand were ok.
shopping is good too in Blanes as there are little market stalls open late into night and sell a variety of handmade things. There are only a few bars in blanes but if your looking for a lively resort llorett de mar is a short taxi ride away but we preffered blanes, the beach club and our hotel bar were the best. Most bars and shops are cheap and there is a local supermarket that you can get all your essentials from. If you want to eat out i would recommend Napoli (little italian resturant) the pizzas are beautiful and are all handmade and the lasagne is great! say hello to the little waitress called china! she is lovely!
Barcelona is not far either! you can catch a bus to local train station and get train straight into barcelona (well recomended)
Overall our holiday was great and there were plenty of things to do in the day.
i would stay at hotel pimar again but i am more of a camper girl and would more than likely choose camping solmar!
Blanes is a lovely place and i have been here 5 times now and it is by far the best resort i have ever been to in spain! Happy holidays!!

“great location”

have just returned from an 11day stay here.Could not fault the location, directly opposite the beach so no problems there. If staying at this hotel do not get a room at the back as they all overlook old sometimes derelict buildings which are housing pidgeons and the rooms are not much better than a travel lodge. The food was average, was buffet which was great but they were quite slow in bringing out replacements and often had to stand and wait for replenishments! The staff were great and the entertainment was good, different every night. The only thing it seemed to lack was some sort of snack bar for lunch time so if I wanted a snack had to go to restaurant or pop to the nearest supermarket which was about 5mins away. This is the sister hotel to the Beverley about 1/2mile away but no comparison really. Dont bother with the swimming pool on roof, chairs past their prime and small oblong pool.
