I travelled with my daughter, with some trepidation (holiday booked when very much intoxicated) but by the end was very pleased with the choice.
We arrived at 2am, after a 1.5 hr transfer, paid a 50e deposit to the receptionist and made our way to our GF room. The room was very clean and supplied with new(ish) refrigerator, toaster & microwave although no kettle! No problem, we used the small pan quite adequately. The beds were comfortable and supplied with extra pillows & blankets.
Although much of the next 5 days were cold & cloudy with one horrendous rain storm with water flowing down the road outside our room 12-14" deep, quite spectacular, even funny after lashings of vodka, we managed to keep ourselves cheerful. We went to Lloret twice at night by bus, 20e return by taxi, but it was also relatively quiet being late in the season. The bus station is 300yds from the apartments with a single ticket to Lloret being 2.5e and return 3.5e, last bus leaving Lloret 10.15pm out of season. You buy your tickets in the office & the staff have a fair unstanding of English and are helpful.
The weather changed for the better and we had the next 6 days on a truly wonderful quiet Blanes beach located approximately 600yds from the apartment or around the Europa pool. An ample quantity of sunbeds were available FOC around the large pool. I wasn't brave enough to venture into the pool but I'm reliably informed that it was extremely invigorating!
The holiday was extended by 4 days due to the National Spanish strike on the 29th however, with a bit of ‘surfing’ and calls to the UK we managed to extend our stay in the apartments and re-book the flight home. It turned out to be an expensive extension, however this was offset by the wonderful weather 22-25degrees.
We met many friendly people which culminated in being ‘broken’ one night by the Nottingham girls, Clare & Lacey!
In summation, the apartments were very clean and functional, for the price; we generally hire a villa or travel 5* to Egypt and I’d have no hesitation in recommending the apartments to friends or in fact returning.
We spent many nights in the Irish (sports) bar 300yds away which is well served by Andy (owner) and Leon and can recommend the food which is served hot and appetising, particularly the breakfasts. I spent many afternoons watching the various sporting events, drinking copious amounts of ‘amber’ water and putting the worlds to rights.
The reception & bar staff were very friendly and helpful. We'd didn't spend much time at the attached bar/basic restaurant but on the couple of afternoons it was used found it to be clean, not so cheap but cheerful.
If I were to return to Blanes it would be either the 1st or 2nd week of September for the more reliable weather & I’d probably hire a car to make venturing and transfers a little easier.
