I stayed 10 days in Hotel Maritime, Calella in September 2010 and am very disappointed. I had soar throat every night after meal and this stopped when I left the hotel. I think the cooking oil was not of a good quality. The TV channels were limited to 1 English, 1 French, 1 Russian, 1 German and a few Spanish which could not be received in rainy days. The remote control was only handed over at the reception against a 10 Euros deposit! The staff had a strange attitude and would never throw a glance at you, never smiled and never said hello. The cleanliness was also a concern. I found on a few occasions hair on the bed and in the bathroom probably belonging to the lady who was cleaning the room. The first day I arrived, the toilette was not clean and also had my bed sheet changed once because of stains on it! Generally, sheets and towels were not changed every day and soaps not provided enough. Soundproofing was also terrible while flashing toilette in upper room. The sound echoed through air conditionning system which was very disturbing when I was trying to sleep. Although, I had already paid 20 % in advance on booking.com through Visa card, on departure day, the Manager was insisting that I should also sign the Visa voucher not only for the remaining bill but also for the whole including the 20% advanced payment! This would have enable them to recharge me again regardless of the advanced payment. Once arrived there, I also realized that there was an exageration in size on the photos of the hotel shown on Internet and the real size in regard to swimming pool and the rest. Everything was indeed smaller.

First of all we would like to thank you the time it took you to write these comments. As our goal is to keep improving our services, for us is very important the feedback from our customers and so be able to get continuous improvement.
As we want to know the needs and dislikes of our customers, we are doing a continuous, comprehensive monitoring of feedback from you, both in establishment and on-line.
In the Hotel Maritim in Calella and also in the rest of the GHT Hotels, a high rate of customers repeat every year and this fills us with pride, but we are not satisfied and we strive every day, so our guests can get with us a great vacation.
But with some of your comments we only have to disagree. Starting with your soar throat, we are very sorry about that but in our opinion the cooking oil has no relation to it. We strictly follow the rules imposed by the Spanish Ministry of Health, by the Catalan Government and by the ISO 9001 rules, internationally recognized.
The clean of our establishments are top priority and a high percent of our guests are very satisfied with it. The towels are changed every day (only if you throw them in the appropriate place, the sheets twice a week (as we care for the environment).
Eventually, we are not thieves, as you may suggest in the Visa comment. You have to sign it as you sign the voucher when you buy in your supermarket. Booking.com does not charge anything to you, but they provide us with your credit card information to charge you the deposit. At the hotel Maritim only wished (they do it with every client that has paid an advance by Visa) with your signature, the confirmation of your authorization for the first payment (the deposit of 20%). The photos of this or any other hotel of our group have never been manipulated.
