“Perfect, quiet, friendly hotel in a beautiful resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Immediately on arrival, my partner and I noted how quiet the hotel was and how safe our apartment felt. It was our first time in Corralejo but we definately made a good choice!
All 3 Receptionists we encountered were very friendly, their english very good. On arrival we were given a map, the route to the main shops/restaurants and the beach were highlighted.
5 min walk to a lovely beach with some great restaurants. 5 min walk to the main street with shops/restaurants, hire places etc.
Apartment basic but met our requirements. The water from the coffee machine was a bit too cool so we hired a kettle (€10 + €10 deposit for the week).
Only downside was the single beds but thats usual of this area and not specific to the hotel. Fridge and bath a bit rusty/marked, could do with some new ones but not dirty - in fact the room was spotless (room 5). Other guests really friendly and chatty.
Pool was not heated, but always spare sunbeds, never hugely busy even though the hotel seemed fairly close to being full. Little pool bar open early afternoon.
Would definately return to this area - dont go if you're planning a boozy trip though, this is definately not a party/clubbing resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near reception or by the pool to avoid being put in the less-friendly looking apartme...

“A great base for your holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed at the Maxorata beach from Feb 1st to Feb 8th, so just returned. We booked a 1 bed apartment through Low Cost Holidays. The apartment was really good, larger than most, we were upper floor, so we had our own door, with an inside staircase, a large bedroom, living room with pull out bed and TV (you can get the remote to use it with digital for a returnable deposit at reception, but only 1 English channel). Then through an arch to a good size kitchen with dining table.

We were in number 64, and were a bit dissapointed that it looked over some waste ground, which has been cleared to start building on. We did ask if we could move, but the hotel was full. We didn't let this spoil our stay though.

The beds were comfy, but the pillows are awful!

The apartments are a 5 min walk to the beach, use the key to get out of the back of the grounds, turn left, then right down the side of the Barcelo hotel, then straight over, and you're there.

The old town was about a 10 min walk. The main street was very close.

There is a small shop, open at breakfast and tea time, good for water to save carrying it too far, they do have bread and sacks, but there are quite expensive.

The reception staff are very helpful, and the whole place is very clean. Our room was cleaned 3 times in the week we were there.

A great base for a holiday, and good value for the money we paid for it.

One tip, if you go in winter time, do take a jacket and some sweatshirts. We knew it would be windy, but nothing prepared us for just how windy, and it was quite cool at nights, people walking round in coats and scarfs, we were fine in a hoody, but had to sit inside restaurants to eat.

We hired a car for 6 days, and always found a parking space just ouside the door, but this may change in high season.

The resort was much quieter than we expected, but did seem to get a bit busier later in the week.

Room Tip: Take something warm to wear in the evenings!

“excellent”

We came home on 26th Jan after a 2 week stay at the Maxorata Beach. We have absolutely no complaints. We stayed in apartment 63 - a 1 bedroomed apartment with separate kitchen, big enough for a dining table and chairs and a reasonably sized sitting room. Our balcony faced east so we had sun from getting up until about 2pm each day - wonderful to sit and have breakfast on the balcony. The apartments are a bit dated but absolutely spotless with the cleaners coming in every other day. Equipment in the kitchen included microwave, toaster and coffee maker and even an electric juicer. The location is brilliant, a few minutes walk from both the beaches and the main shopping/restaurant area but still really quiet and peaceful. The staff could not have been more helpful. In all, an excellent place to enjoy a few weeks in the sun. We will definitely be back.

Having just returned home just felt I need to warn you of bare wires as I had a electric shock off lamp , disgusting rusty fridge damp walls and smell . We were moved from one horrible apartment to another . I must say that some apartments by the pool did look nice . Apartments plus point is they are in a good location as not far from main street .
