“Basic hotel but just what we wanted”

This hotel wouldn't really be a good choice if you were planning on spending a lot of time in the room or were a bit fussy about decor etc but we had a great time there. The rooms are clean, very spacious and quiet at night and the pool was just outside our room, which would have been great if it wasn't December! It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it has all the basics and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Its about 10 minutes to the town centre and you can get a bus to the beach from just down the road.

I loved Corralejo. The beach is fantastic and we literally had miles of sand to ourselves. We even stripped off on the nudist beach but not for long as there was a bit of a chill in the air! We did the drag-queen night and I wasn't keen at first but it was a good cheesy night out. The pubs and bars usually have something going on, a band, singer, gymnasts or shows. I went for a walk in the town and saw a bbq going on near the little cove beach but when we went back the next day someone told me it was only on Sundays and we were leaving on Saturday so missed out but worth a look.

“ok, nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2009

these apatments were 'nice', ok location, ok size, ok facilities. Definatley nothing spectacular but fine for a cheap week away. About 5 mins walk from the resort centre but across a very busy road. Resort itself is lovely, fantastic restraunts. Pool area and balconies were cramped but rooms were half decent. A 2nd little balcony on the back of the room, off the bedroom wich seemed a bit pointless as it was too little to sit on and the view was just dusty wasteland. Would only go back if a mega cheap deal came up!!

“Value/budget apts suitable for a base to explore”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2009

we stayed here in april 2008. The apartments have all the amenities you expect from a standard apartment block. Rooms were clean but basic. Pay as you go tv was little bit of a pain but we managed fine. Small walk to main road in town and small cove beaches, if you want stretches of long sand get the bus or taxi to the sand dunes outside town! You can get the ferry to lanzarote for the day from the harbour. Brilliant pub across the road from the hotel call the sundowner, brilliant food reasonable prices!! considering the cost we paid it was good value basic accommodation! I would recommend if on a budget and just looking for somewhere to explore from.

“Ideal location and size”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2009

After reading the mixed reviews we wondered what we would find, but we needn't have worries.
The apartments are ideally situated at the back of the resort, meaning that they are quiet during the evening with no sounds of bars or noisy holiday makers returning. In fact, even during the day, the double glazing kept out noise from the main road so that it was not a problem.
It is an easy walk down to the beaches, harbour area and main road. We sometimes did it up to three times a day and it takes about 5 minutes.
Our room was shabby but clean and spacious. It was cleaned three times during the week and sheets and towels changed 4 times. It was well equipped for holiday cooking with a toaster and kettle provided.
The rooms surround the pool and all of the balconies get the sun for half the day. We had it from about 2 onwards, which made it ideal for evening drinks before we went out. Was a bit disappointing not to be able to have breakfast on it, but it was not a problem.
You can get sun all day round by the pool but you have to switch sides, again, not a problem.
We found the reception staff very friendly and helpful as was the Thomson/First Choice Rep.
The local beaches are nice, sun beds are pricey at 9e a day for two but the cost was the same everywhere.
We took the bus to a few local villages and to see the dunes, which are just down the road. Be warned it is very windy on the dunes, we were intending to stay for the day but decided to head back to the local beach, which was more sheltered.
For a weeks relaxing break in Spring this was ideal, two weeks might have found us looking for more things to do. or needing a car.
The resort centre had plenty of shops and restaurants. The food is about the same price as here, but that is the same all over Europe at the moment.
Would recommend El Pescador restaurant, because of friendly welcoming service and good standard of food.

“Not a hotel if you want to open the curtains”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2009

I arrived at this hotel together with 30 other people at about 21.30hrs. There was only 1 person on reception and after spending in excess of 30 minutes signing forms we were eventally allocated a room. No assistance from the hotel staff so I had to haul 2 cases up 2 flights of stairs. The room was spacious and was clean upon our arrival. I soon became aware that the room was close to the main road. On getting up at 4am to the sound of the local delivery men and waste collection men I opened the curtains and realised that we were overlooking the main road in Corralejo. On opening the curtains the local residents and the local office workers could look strainght into the bedroom. Not what I call private. Throughout the holiday the curtains were kept closed. There was a balcony to the front but this over looked the main road. The thought of going on holiday to have a drink after a day at the beach, and spend that time overlooking the main highway was not what I call a holiday. There was a balcony to the rear which was overlooked by 3 other families and we did infact have a few nights talking to each other. Again not private. This hotel cannot be described as more than a 2 star and if you are after a cheap holiday with the curtains drawn and a small pool then this place is ideal. I would never go back there again.
