Just spent a week at the Dunas Alisios i would defenitely recommend to anyone. The place itself is very nice, decent quality apartments although slightly rough around the edges, but certainly nothing to worry about. All the staff were very helpfull and friendly, didn't have a single problem while we were there.

I'd recommend going all inclusive as you get a wide range of drinks (although not international brands) but just about every spirit you can think of is included, plus you get a different cocktail included each day. The buffet restaurant is pretty good aswell, considering some places have very bad food, this was actually quite good quality. Only slight problem is that alot of the food is sea food based which my girlfiend was allergic to but still enough choice for most people. Even if you didn't like any of it there is an all inclusive snack menu which has burgers, hotdogs, chips etc.

The weather was SUPER HOT for September, apparently it peeked at 46 degrees one day, we were expecting high 20's!
The resort itself is literally 20 seconds walk from the main street which is filled with restaurants, shops, supermarkets etc but be warned the local NETTO is not quite as cheap as our NETTO!
I'd recommend going to EL TORRO STEAK HOUSE which was one of the highlights of the holiday - excellent food and the bend over backwards to please you!

The beach is only about 5 mins walk, please do not listen to the other reviews which state it is miles away - they must have got lost!

All in all its a nice resort, nice staff, great location, and great weather!
STRONGLY RECOMMEND!

It was in august it was very hot, 44 degrees, but some days the weather didnt get hot till mid morning, one day it was so windy, the sun did not appear and i was cold although the temperature was 30 degrees,
Cleaners came most days, always changing the towels, even if they wasnt used, our bathroom smelt. it was the drains, we kept the bathroom door shut, our appartment which was 2 bedroom was next to the pool that was very nice, think it was no.86.
bathroom wasnt very nice . needs updating, some rust around the bath, smelt under the kitchen sink also. had a large standing fan in the living room, air conditining units could be hired, but they were hastle, empting out the water, etc, we didnt bother,
We got bitten by mosqitos!!!!
Entertainment was ok for kids, beware of letting your children have photos taken with the snake man as he charged 20 euros for 2 photos and the parrot man charged 10 euros, this was not mentioned at the show, or after the show, when the show begins the snake man says that all children are welcome to touch the snakes at the end of the show, at the end of the show out comes the camera, he takes the photo and then gets the parents in a corner and whispers to them the price, we told him it cost too much, but there were people paying it, couldnt believe it for a digiatl photo, he got nasty with my husband as we didnt want tobuy it.
The location of appartments is good, just a few steps up the road and you are on the main strip of shops , bars and resturants, which at first i thought was tacky, but we got used to it, as the year before we had been to gran caneria, amadores resort which was very quiet,
Walk about half mile or so down the long road and it brings you to the old town, where music square is, we prefered the resturants in this area best, they also seemed cheaper.
Down in the old town is the local supermarket, called Impassaco, this is alot cheaper than nettos,
The harbour is at the old town, you can get a ferry to lanzarote or the island of Lobos, we got the glass bottom boat to the island of lobos, which we enjoyed. this is a nature reserve, not alot here, depends what you like.
Dont bother with the land train , it takes you around the town and an area with lots of boared up shops which you dont see in the main strip
We didnt go to the local beach as we were told by someone else that it wasnt very nice so we dodnt bother, we did go to the dunes, they were nice. It is possible to walk to them and takes about 30 mins from the appartments
I wouldnt bother with half board, food looked the same every night

I have just come back froma week at this hotel.

Accommodation
when we arrived, reception was very efficient, explained how to get to our apartment and we were pleasantly suprised. Although the door could do with a lick of paint the apartment was clean, bed pretty comfy and the kitchen well stocked with equipment.

The apartments were cleaned on mostly a daily basis with new towels provided

The location of the apartments are great, central for all the amenities

Pool Area
The pool and surrounding areas were cleaned daily

Food
I was on an all inclusive basis. Breakfast was good, sausage bacon, fried, scrambled, poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes etc also crossiants, cereal etc. Dinner and LUnchThere was plenty of choice usually at least 2-3 meat options, fish, pizza, hotdogs, burgers etc although not a brilliant selection for vegetarians. There was always fresh salad, bread etc. The pizzeria 'a la carte' was ok, same food as buffet but i enjoyed it.

There was a self service lager, soft drink and tea and coffee facility that was handy as there was only one barman on usually and he was quite busy. I didnt mind a 5 min wait tho as i was on holiday. The bar also offered slush drinks which were very refreshing during the day.

The snack menu when the buffet wasnt open offered sandwiches/toasties, burgers, chips and hotdogs.

I really enjoyed this holiday, if your looking for a 4/5 star hotel then this is not for you but if you want a good base to explore corralejo with decent food then this is ideal.

We stayed at the Dunas Alisios.
Our first impression was how nice it looked, but inside everything was very shabby and old looking.
The all inclusive food was dreadfull, hardly any choice unless you like very dried up salad, chips, pizza and chicken nuggets. I dont eat this rubbish at home, and dont expect to eat it on a holiday that I paid alot of money for.
We went into the al a cart resturant and we were served exactly what was in the buffet restaurant.
I dont accept that a hard cob with a bit of melted garlic butter on it, lasagna, pizza, chips and fruit and ice cream are al a cart, more like al a crap
Cats are allowed to roam the dinning room and area freely, I love all animals but this surely is a hygene risk.
One evening we were ready for going out and decided to sit in the bar for adrink, the barman refused to serve us, he said as we were all inclusive we had to get it from the help yourself bar outside, there was only beer and soft drinks available out there, he refused to serve us spirits, we wernt drunk or abbusive to him. he just couldnt be bothered to serve us. We complained to reception, but got no response
The panel on the bath was crumbling away, and I kept scratching my legs on it,
the fridge in the room was rusty,
no air con in the rooms, but the fan in the room was so loud we couldnt sleep and we couldnt have the windows open as they water the grounds during the night with sewage, so the smell was horrible.
One of the plug sockets in the room had someones broken adapter plug in it, i asked at reception for this to be removed so we could use it, but it wasnt done, the other socket when we tried to pull the plug out the socket and all came out, very dangerous.
We didnt see the rep after our meeting untill the night befor we came home, by then I was so angry that if I had spoken to her i would have lost my temper.
I am a disabled person and save all year for our holiday, within 24 hoursI wanted to go home. I have been ripped off as this holiday was not worth half the cost.
I have paid less and stayed in much better places than this. I feel that Thomas Cook/ Sunset have let me down

We went for a week of just chiiling out by the pool and it was exactly what we had. The apartment was very clean, the food was lovely and the bar staff/reception staff were very friendly. Would def recommend going all inclusive it is well worth it. Would love to go again and probably will next year. Gary is a legend!!! He is the entertainment and he certainly is that!!!!
