“Wonderful, relaxing family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We are a family of 4, with children aged 6 and 4 and we had a wonderful 2 weeks at Casa El Morro in August. We stayed in the El Ajibe room which was very atmospheric with a beautiful outdoor area for the kids and a daybed to relax on. We had a great barbeque so we could have many meals outdoors. There was a large SPAR about 10 mins drive away. The pool was a fantastic and chilled space to relax and the kids had great fun swimming, exploring the grounds and playing with the cats. We had a car so did lots of exploring of the island - Karolina and Raquel gave us great advice on where to find interesting places, away from the tourist areas. If you are looking for a very relaxed place for a family holiday, this is the place to go. Don't expect service all the time, as one finds in a hotel (this isn't the place if thats what you are looking for) as it's almost like being in ones own house but if you do need help or advice, it is always available. The weather was lovely most of the time but even if it isn't, there are great places to explore even with kids in tow. A chilled, relaxing holiday and great family time. Thank you Raquel and Karolina.

Room Tip: Go for the El Ajibe room.

“Decent experience”

First of all I would like to point out an important factor nobody will tell you. Most of the time Summer weather in Lanzarote is tricky. It is always cloudy until midday, after 2pm sun might appear but evenings are cloudy again. If you are sun warshipper change your destination otherwise you will die as the Island has very little to offer other than some decent beaches. In addition Casa el Morro is inland...hence even more cloudy and windy then of the coast.

Said that a brief comment on CASA. it was our intention to spend a full week there but after 3 days we decided to move to another island as the weather was awful. We took a good decision, we found bright sun on another Island

During our stay we felt abandoned. Just very few contacts with a Polish lady. Raquel has never appeared. She called us just to tell us that we were going to be charged in full even if we were leaving earlier. Hospitality level was poor. Energy level in the structure was depressing. If you want to run this type of activity you have to warm up your offer with your presence otherwise it does not make any sense to the guest to take the offer.

One more thing: when I booked we were told there were just two flats available (the more expensive) - When we arrived we discovered CASA was empty...no other People around other than a couple.

First of all we respect all the comments of our Guests, but as a management of Casa el morro we would like to clarify some points:

1. Most of the year the weather on Lanzarote is like in late spring with average temperature of 21-28 degrees, perfect for people that loves sun but not heat. It is very rarely that rains. One can stay on the beach and swim in sea or in a pool whole year. I am very sorry for the author of comment that he had no luck with weather but he can’t judge all the summer weather on the island if he spent here only 3 days….

2. I would like to indicate that we are not a big hotel with 24hours reception open. All Guests that book with us, are informed that our office is open in the mornings and we are delighted to give any advise or recommendations of nice beaches, interesting places, good restaurants. We offer all the extra activities that one can find in the island, but seems to me that some of the Guests just are not interested in that kind of help and prefer to complain.

3. Our reservation and cancellation policy is very clear, everybody can read it in our web site.
In case of not show or earlier departure we charge 100% of reservation.

Lanzarote is on the list of Biosphere reserves if UNESCO. It is known by its extraordinary and unique landscape, it is quiet perfect place to relax and spend vacations. Definitely it is not a place for those who are looking for a busy party areas with clubs..maybe some of the Guests should know it before they book vacations in Lanzarote..

“Beauty, relaxation, happiness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2011

We stayed in the El Alijibe rooms which were a delight! Beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you could want, although we were hardly inside. The bedroom was quirky and enchanting and we slept soundly every night.
The pool area was perfect, with big shaded beds around the outside and a great view over the village below. There was a sauna which was easy to use.
Raquel had organic produce which we happily purchased - aubergines, eggs, chard, radishes etc which we cooked up ourselves.
Pedro the cat was a welcome friend and we did some yoga which was great. Raquel is a very warm and helpful host.
To sum up - total heavenly relaxation and with your rental car its easy to explore the island.

“Lovely place, but not perfect.”

Very quiet place. A long way from most places so you'll need a car. However, the village has a supermarket which is only 5-10 minutes walk away. The apartment we had was clean and comfortable, with a nice patio outside with table and chairs. The pool was lovely.
I think my only real gripe with the place was the fact that it's self catering, and they provide cutlery, crockery and a couple of small pans, albeit not very good ones, but they don't provide anything to wash them up with. I don't know whether they keep all of the washing up liquid left behind by guests but it seems odd to me that they wouldn't provide this. Having said that we asked for some and got it. The rooms are also very dark, as another reviewer mentioned, but we didn't spend too much time inside anyway.

Overall it was a great stay and just the thing to get away from a UK winter for a week. We'd go again.

Oh, watch out for mad woman across the road who doesn't like you turning your car in her drive.

“Most relaxing place of Lanzarote”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2010

We've stayed with our two teen sons and my husband and I loved this place. It's very quite with nice surroundings and it has a very relaxing atmosphere. Don't expect a lot of restaurants near this place, but if you're looking for a peaceful place; this is the one. Huge daybeds at both our apartment and the swimmingpool made our sons even get to read a book. Our bed was quite firm, slightly too firm to my taste, but better too firm then too soft. Raquel made us feel at home and the place was cleaned every day. You need a car to overlook Lanzarote, but you will need one even when you're in Playa Blanca or Puerto del Carmen. I highly recommend this place.
