“Great refurbished hotel”

We stayed here for a week in June 2011 , booked last minute with first choice for £420 each (all inclusive). For the price we paid we were very impressed. Great rooms and ok food. Only downside is the small pool/sunbathing area which can get quite crampt in the summer months and due to the height and design of the hotel only half of the bathing area is fully exposed to sunlight meaning that half way through the day you will have to try to get a sunbed over the other side of the pool area otherwise you won't get a tan. Food is ok, not the best but always something to eat , even if your a fussy eater.Rooms have recently been refurbished with nice beds and flat screen tvs allong with very nice bathrooms.

Location is good, 800meter walk to the sa coma beach which is beautiful and well kept (sand is filtered by tractors a couple of times a week). lots of local shops and restraints not to far away as well .

Airport transfer is a bit long in a bus (1hr 20mins) but if you get a taxi it will take half an hour max.

Overall great value break and if we could snap it up for the same price again we would surely go back again.

“Fine towards the end of the season but could be extremely busy!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We stayed here for ten nights at the end of September, the check in was smooth and organised and the English staff were courteous and warm, the room was obviously recently refurbished, tastefully decorated and large! Bathroom was excellent with a good shower in the wet room ( no bath) the public areas were also to a high standard. Criticisms in other reviews surround the food and waits in high season for a table, at the beginning of our stay it was very busy but as the season slowed it became much less busy. Foos quality was reasonable but lacked some imagination as dishes recurred regularly and were often served up the following day for dinner? The lunchtime menus at the pool bar restaurant was the same on a daily basis and was often troubled by wasps in the food! Although sun beds were adequate for the dwindling guest numbers a large part of the pool area was in shadow at some point during the day , as the sun moved the high rise building shaded differing areas of the pool. Evening entertainment was changeable with some excellent acts ( the rod Stewart soundalike was excellent) the abba tribute dire ! Overall we enjoyed it but would not go back in high season!

“Birthday surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

I booked this hotel for my partner as surprise for his birthday, i had requested a high floor pool view. When we arrived had a fantastic greeting and was impressed with look of the hotel, very clean and the staff had smiles on their faces. We got to our room which as requested was high floor overlooking the pool, there was a bottle of cava in a wine cooler waiting for us. The room was amazing two rooms and an amazing bathroom with a large walk in shower. The food was fantastic and very varied, it was a smallish restaurant but wasnt to busy or cramped. There was fresh breads every day a salad bar, pasta and sauces hot and cold, then along the back was all the hot food with a selection being cooked to order. Out by the pool there were few sunbeds and what we liked was the had a deck which was higher up for just the adults. There was food being served by the pool all day and drinks, it wasnt on the beach but only a 5min walk, the beach was beautiful. The hotel was ideally situated and was not over crowded, entertainment was good and staff friendly.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking the pool is nice as you may be in with a chance of over looking the road

“Fantastic Family Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

We stayed at the Palmeras Playa from 20th sept to 30th sept and what a great hotel this is, Arrived 10pm to a cold plated buffet for me my wife and 2 daughters which we thought was a nice gesture, hotel room was stunning and we upgraded to the junior suite with its own sun terrace and jacuzzi, champagne in the fridge for my wifes birthday and a cake made for my daughter for her 4th birthday all compliments of the hotel. This was sorted out by rachel and clare in reception whom id emailed before we came out, and what fantastic ladies they are. The hotel itself is immaculate with rooms being cleaned everyday and also fresh towels, the food was great and varied with something served different everyday, the entertainment team ie Mica and Kamilla do a fantastic job keeping the children entertained throughout the day and the evening entertainment was also of a very good standard. everyone that worked at the hotel were extremely pleasent and always of a happy nature, its mainly a 50/50 mix of english and germans and the thing i liked most about the hotel was that there wasn't a 'Chav' insight....lol. Sa Coma itself is a little on the quiet side, as in not so many bars and restaurants but the beach is gorgeous and extremely clean. All in all this hotel/resort is ideally suited for familys and of the older generation and would definately return to this hotel.
