We - a Norwegian family consisting of mother, father, 2 daughters, son in law & grandson - spent the last of September 2011 at week at Estrella de Mar & Spa, and had a very pleasant 'all inclusive' vacation:

- pleasant staff (including 3 Norwegian speaking receptionists)
- large twin rooms (with a layout that enabled each room to be used independently)
- large balcony
- beautiful & lush palm fringed pool area
- nice outdoor dining area (we had all meals here)
- great location (only a few minutes from a shallow & protected part of the Alcudia beach - excellent for smaller children)
- great indoor spa facilites (jacuzzi, cold pool, massage showers, steam bath, etc)

Some recommendations however:
- extend the use of signs on the buffet, informing the guests what is being served on each dish
- stop charging for in-room safe box & for the Internet access. It cannot represent that significant amount of money, and it must be better to part of an even better service perception......

I was a little uncertain if I should include the following in my review at all:

the only bad experience I personally had was when I returned rented bikes at the sister hotel across the street. Maybe the receptionist was annoyed since we had to push the garage door opener multiple times to get it opened, or it was me wearing a bandana on my head and no t-shirt. Anyway, this receptionists (Christian) had - in contrast to the other staff - such a patronizing attitude that put me totally off..... I informed him of my perception, and he expressed is excuse - while clearly demonstrating that he was not sorry.

Supernice. Went there with two smal kids (2,8 year and 8 months) and had a super vaccation. Beach really close and perfect for both grownups and kids. We will go there again! Also the room was very good with seperate bedroom and livingroom/kitchen, important when you want to stay up after you have put the kids to sleep :o) . The garden/pool area was beautiful!!! and peacefull. There was also a small playground for the kids, great!!!

Lovely hotel, pool-area is gorgeous: pool for small children, pool for older children and deep pool. Then there´s a pool inside incase of bad weather. There were quite a lot children, so it was quite noicy. If you prefer silence, you should choose Coral de mar.

We had all inclusive, which was worth all the money! All breakfest, lunch and dinner had lots of variety to choose from.

Room was spacious, but you could see that it has been almost 10 years since renovation. Our room was to the pool and I have to say that the evening entertainment was too loud!

The staff is very friendly.

The beach is near and it´s perfect for kids.

Nice hotel and great service. A lot of families with small kids so perhaps not optimal for the romantic honeymooners as it can be quite noisy in the public areas. As we traveled with kids it was perfect though as there were many new friends to be found. Walking distance to great beach but I believe most people stayed in the pool area. The Spa area felt forgotten by the other guests but it was really good with a great water massage pool with five different stations.
