“Don't listen to the whinges this place is a good value”

We had an apartment in B block overlooking the pool, the apartment was clean and tidy with a good maid service, good choice of pools, we tended to use C. block pool, service in the bar and restuarant was also good. We did half board and the breakfast weas plentiful and good, the evening meal was a buffet style and mostly very good with a good choice, deserts were often repetative though and healthy ( we are on holiday let the sugar and cream flow) bar prices were also good at 2.20 to 2.70 a pint.
Alcudia itself was nice, the spanish being very friendly and polite, very much like the greeks and italians (where I normally holiday) so with my first visit on spanish soil I was impressed, would definately visit this hotel again, looked to be one of the best in the area. thank you for a good holiday to all the staff at sea club. My only slight critisms were the entertainment, had a couple of good shows with tribute to the beatles and MJ and the amy whinehouse was very good, but not consistent throughout the stay and the beds, not comfortable, hard mattress and pillows.

“Review from an older couple”

Husband and I just returned 30th Sept 2011 from a 10 day break here. As it was late in the season it was pretty quite but I can imagine it would be very busy in the high season with children. Stayed on B Block - 1 bed apartment. Site/toilets/eating areas/pools - spotless and reception staff friendly and helpful. Can't comment about food as we were selfcatering - on that note - prices of food in supermarkets all over Alcudia - very pricey up to UK - pay at least half if not double the price in UK. As it was late in season there was some good deals on breakfast and meal of the day in bars. Los Palmitos bar close by - friendly staff, Graham Powell a singer there several nights great but for the older people. Woody Woodpecker, english bar also good meals and value. Lager was cheap in most places - 1.70 - 2.90 euros pt. Beach was about 10 mins walk but we stopped for breakfast so did not really time it. Would stay again - out of season, and go half board.

Room Tip: Try for the blocks close to main reception - A & B

“Honest Review”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

We stayed at SCA for one week at end of September.
First impressions - good - clean and tidy grounds. Loads of space ( as we found out later for kids to play ). We had seen from previous reviews that it was good for children but did not think from the way it was portrayed that it was almost solely for people with young children. It was very busy with people with kids of mostly young age so it was noisey around the pool and in the bar at night which we only visited once because of this. The complex would benefit from an "adults only" bar if they want to keep attracting people without children. You couldnt lie and just relax around the pool without getting soaked from water guns or kids running past you screaming - yes they were enjoying themselves but we wanted a bit of peace for some of the time - the parents should perhaps have taken this in hand because they dont keep their children beside them but allow them to run riot at the other side of the pool. Plenty sun loungers and no one puts towels out so if your down early enough ie 9.30 - 10.00 am - you can have your pick. Pool is icey cold.
The room - we had a studio apt above the Tropical Bar, which shut at 5.30, so did not cause any problem in the evening sitting out on the balcony. It had perfectly adequate facilties but the fridge could be doing with renewing as it was past its best. The room was very clean and the maid service is fantastic. Beds comfy enough. Air con excellent. TV is not so good but you dont go on hols to watch TV - Only 2 english speaking news channels - so not really worth it anyway.
Supermarket - well stocked - staff lovely.
Food at pool bar - ok - better to eat out in my opinion. Loads of bars serve fixed price 3 course for around 10 euros. Good cafe for lunch - Los Palmitos - go out main entrance and turn left and go to end of street - 5 mins very slow walk. Service is slow to get bill but food good and friendly service.
Use Spars ( all around the area ) for essentials - the one directly across from the entrance is more expensive than the rest.
Beach - 5 mins walk only and is beatifully clean with a few eating places and toilets. Lovely walk to the Port - 20 minutes average speed.
Costs ( approx ) - bottle of water - 5l - 1.15e, 1l vodka about 11e for Smirnoff or 7e for other makes which are fine. Bottle of Sprite/Coke 2l - 2e. 200 cigs 37.50e ( ano bad for you, but I do ).
The complex is set back from the main street about 200 yards or 2 streets which is full of restaurants and Spars and cheap souvenir shops, so is mostly quiet.
Would I return - even although we had a good time - probably not, as is a family resort, and should be advertised as this and although I like kids I dont want to hear constant screaming and shouting when I am on holiday.

Room Tip: Blocks seem to be sorted into nationalities and we were in Block C which seemed to be mostly Scandin...

“Great last min decision!”

Me and my husband have been to alcudia, but we stayed in a nice hotel on the beach prev, So we knew roughly where Sea CLub was.

Reading some of the older reviews I was definitely worried what I would arrive to, but was happy with the choice.

Some people say the beach is a distant walk but that must be if you walk snails pace because it really only takes 5 mins. The same to most of the bars and typical tourist shops with gifts and bits.

There are plenty of Spa supermarket shops and a Lidl for self catering, although eating out can be just as cheap.

Me and my husband were put into Block c, overlooking the pool. It was
Lovely and would definately return. I can see how some people would say this is more a family resort, as I can imagine in school Hols that it gets packed. But still I would prob return even then as the resort was great value for a last min idea.

The pools alway have plenty of space and sunbeads available, which in some resorts can be a mission with people going out reserving, but we never had a prob and with 3 pools they were never packed!

Me and my husband didn't think to venture to the harbour, but on our coach ride back to the airport realised how close it is and there are a lot of restaurants and shops. So would suggest checking it out.

But in comparison to the prev hotel we stayed at on the beach front, ( condesa de la bahia) which was double the price, I would prob still return here as it was relaxed and to be honest just as nice.

Enjoy your stay!
