“Good family hotel”

We arrived the last weekend in August. Staff were really friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We have a 2year old and wanted a hotel that was close to the beach. The location was fantastic. When he was bored of the pool, 2 minutes later we were on the beach. Hotel food was good. Our son has become a very fussy eater so he lived on pasta bolognaise yohurt and icecream. I would have been worried if we had been staying for 2 weeks. (luckily brought some food as well). They have pasta everyday which was a godsend. Sometimes the veg was a bit hard and some of the dishes a bit too salty but there was enough of a selection to always find something to eat. I was just happy not having to cook!

The room we had was very noisey, We were right by a stairwell. My son slept through it all but we had trouble sleeping, This is due to the bedrooms located right by the corridor and tiled floors. People coming back from the entertainment were very noisey, slamming doors and yelling. We were generally in bed early as the entertainment was too late for our son.

Rooms were a good size and very clean.

Shop opposite the front of the hotel where you can get 5 litres of water for a fraction of the price the hotel are selling it for. Managed to get milk here as well.

I think the staff are really good at this hotel and greeting everyone to the buffet each mealtime was a nice touch.

My husband originally didn't want to return to the hotel because it was too noisey at night but it is hard to find a hotel in this location with the same facilities, for a reasonable price.

We have decided to return next year and will just put up with the noise.

Room Tip: probably top floor and not by a stairwell

“Liked it so much, we went back again 4 months later !”

In May 2011, my family and I(two adults, kids aged 3 and 1) spent a week at the Ciudad Blanca. We liked it so much, that we went back there for another all-inclusive week's holiday in September 2011.

I'm not going to claim that it's the best hotel, but it's very very good for families, and we just wanted a hotel where we could arrive, and hit the ground (or pool) running. It worked beautifully.

I've already written an exhaustive review on TripAdvisor about how good this hotel is, but need to make two comments.

1. All Inclusive has changed. Now, you no longer get bottles of water for free at the hotel, you have to pay 0.5 Euros per bottle.

It's hardly bank-breaking, but it's ironic that you get the bottles of water from the (free) bar... So you can go there, order a Gordons Gin and Tonic, have a Coke, a cocktail, perhaps some wine.. and it's all free. But if you want 1 litre of water, you have to pay 0.5 Euros.

Also, on the beach bar, there is still a freezer full of (free, all-inclusive) ice creams, but they now have a second freezer of brand-name ice creams right next to it. These definitely aren't all-inclusive, you have to pay for them, and the freezer is padlocked shut !!

2. The kid's disco (which our children adored last time) had moved from 8pm to 8.30pm. To be fair to the hotel, they told me they did this as many family complained that 8pm was too early. For us, that extra half an hour made a huge difference. Our kids were knackered by 9pm, so 8.30pm was too late !

And around 8pm, ours weren't the only children sulking around the dark dance floor, wondering how to kill the next half hour.

I did actually ask about this during this visit, and halfway through our week, it changed to 8.15pm. A fair compromise.

These points aside, the hotel is still excellent, we loved it again, and full marks to the staff, particularly the kids club and entertainers. They do long hours, have bags of energy, and they were a large reason why we went back to this hotel for a second time this year !!

Less marks go to the external entertainment. Do people really still want to hear cover versions of Showaddywaddy songs in 2011...?

“All inclusive”

We took the grand kids to this all inclusive 12 & 15 and it was the right move.
The food was second to none and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only draw back was the rooms were very tired. It took us 3 days to get the shower fixed.
However the hotel is in an ideal position next to the beach.

The holiday overhaul was most enjoyable.
Take the time to go to the old town it worth it.

“All inclusive break.”

Just returned from a week at this hotel. Ideal for young families. Pool shallow (as I dont't swim this is great). Food is varied and always plenty of it never seems to run out as its always being replaced. As all inclusive we had breakfast in the main restaurant and lunch could be taken in the main restaurant or at the beach bar where the selection was not as good but if you just wanted a snack(which we did because after a week of three large meals we where piling on the weight!) Drinks in the restaurant you can help yourself to wine, beer, and soft drinks, but at the beach bar you could only get soft drinks and had to ask for beer and wine, perhaps they thought people could wander in from the beach and help themselves! Weather was very hot, too hot for me and I spent most of the day under an umberella, we thought September might have been a bit cooler. All in all I would reccommend this hotel more so if you have young children and if we go again we will go with our children and our grandchildrenx

“Good holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

Me, my husband and daughter (now aged 12) stayed in this hotel in 2008 and 2009 - both times I could not find one thing that I could possibly have complained about. Stayed there again in August this year and although it was still a great holiday, the place is not the same. The food is still fantastic, so much choice and so tasty. I read another review saying that it is so unusual to find healthy food on holiday (there was plenty of unhealthy stuff too) and it is so true. The staff are still as helpful and friendly as they were the other 2 times, and mostly the same staff too. There are 2 things that let the hotel down, the rooms - adequate enough in size but they desperately need a makeover, they let down the 4 star rating badly. In our room there was a big patch of laminate missing beside the fridge and the walls were grubby. And this year the entertainment staff were awful, they tried their best but in comparison to our other 2 visits they may as well have been non existent. The evening entertainment was basically outside acts - ABBA, Robbie Williams, and a circus (OMG that was awful).

I would recommend the hotel for it's relaxing atmosphere, it is right on the beautiful beach and for it's food (i give that a 4 star rating) but the rooms and the entertainment get a big thumbs down and I would only class them 3 star.

We might try this place again in a few years but will check out the reviews before we book there again.

One tip if you do stay anywhere in Majorca, go to the Pirate show in Magaluf. It is fairly expensive but worth every euro!
