Our biggest upset with this hotel, was finding out that they do 2 kinds of all-inclusive. We have never come across this before. We were told on arrival that our all-inclusive did not include alcohol, and it was an extra 6 Euros per person per day for this and came to a lot for our 2 week holiday. We were really unhappy about this, but the receptionist said it was a matter for our rep. We had booked with Low Cost Holidays.com and getting hold of our 'local' rep proved impossible. After a lengthy period of time and several redirections to british numbers etc, I had spent a fortune in mobile phone charges and got nowhere. The receptionist eventually took pity on us and let us have the full all-inclusive bands without the extra charge.
The hotel was very clean and nice and we liked the pool area. You could get a sunbed if you were up fairly early, and an umbrella too.
The apartment was fairly small but was adequate for our needs. I wouldn't have wanted to try and self-cater there as it would have been a bit too cramped. The was a balcony looking over the street (some had balconies over the pool), and a television. You could get BBC1 on this. The room was cleaned nearly every day - excellent cleaners.
The beach was quite close, but across a busy main road.
For us, the food was what really let it down. Breakfasts were the worst - the eggs were always really solid (like they'd sat on a hotplate somewhere for a long time), and everything was cold no matter how early you went in. I don't think they turned on the hotplates in the restaurant until lunchtime. At lunch and dinner, there was less of a selection than we have found at other all-inclusive hotels, and it was difficult to find something nice to eat. The salad selection was very limited, and they put tinned meat in most of the salads and vegetables so it would be difficult if you were a strict vegetarian. The germans were catered for mostly (they seemed to be the predominant nationality there) and there were usually german sausages etc. I was surprised that the hotel was popular with germans as they usually demand better food than was on offer. The vegetables were mostly tinned (spinach, mushrooms, bamboo hearts, artichokes). There was always pasta at night which usually had an ok sauce, and the garlic mayonnaise was good. I don't eat desserts much, but they looked tasty. The kids lived off chips and ice-cream and I didn't give them a hard time about it as I couldn't find much that I liked, and I like lots of foods. We ended up eating out more than we would have liked.
There was a nice wee indoor pool, a sauna, and a little gym with exercise bikes and cross trainers. There were 2 computers (1 Euro for 10mins) but one was often out of order, and there were always people waiting to use them.
My son took a week to find some british kids to befriend (lots of other nationalities there) and our daughter didn't manage to find any british teenagers there. I was a bit annoyed that the kids clubs seemed to cater only for the germans. The kids' entertainment programme was all written in German so we never knew what was on. My son went on a trip to the beach with them and on a banana boat (14 Euros I think), but he said they couldn't understand him properly.
The evening entertainment was ok, but again, a bit poor compared to other hotels we have stayed at. We liked the staff, and found that if you put money in the tip jar every night (other people rarely seemed to), they were friendly and gave you good service.
