“Do not stay if you want English entertainment!!!”

We booked this hotel due to its central location, but upon arrival we were dissapointed at the state of the room given to us, so much so that we made a complaint to reception who moved us the next morning.
To say we were the minority is an understatement! Every single entertainment show, disco etc put on was in German, our kids were so dissapointed, as were we.
We would never stay here again, and urge any English family to stay clear, as this hotel caters to the Germans ONLY.

“4th Stay and will be our last. Sadly not for British any more”

Well, to say I am disappointed is an understatement. I cannot pinpoint one thing that let us down but a combination of several. went last 2 weeks in July 2011 so expected a mix of nationalities. How wrong I was. Sadly very few English speaking folk and even less Children. Our boys made no friends and the activities were much less than previous year. The indoor pool was out of order for 3 - 4 days, on one occassion the outdoor pool was closed most of the day with no reason given. THe usual practice of unlocking the sunbeds by the pool had been abandoned and it was a free for all if you were prepared to get up at 0700 and that was a late start. I mean who goes on holiday to get up that early... but our "continental european" friends who shared the hotel were much wiser. They put the towels down at midnight on occassion. After a few days of this and much complaining, normal service resumed and it was first come first sert at 0900. Another factor was being told we could not drink our own juice at the poolside tables as we were not buying enough from the bar.. I mean what is the point of self catering. I think the cash takings were down due to the majority of guests being all inclusive. The general condition of the Hotel is not great, Hall carpets worn, Ants in the room and the maid deciding not to clean our Bathroom or give us towels one days for no apparent reason.... NO TIP for HER !!!! so, Adios Port D'Alcudia. WE WILL NOT BE BACK

“Lovely hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

We had booked in Alcudia Beach apartments (which is the hotel next door), but on arrival were told we would be staying here. We werent bothered as they both looked similar from the outside, but after staying here a week we were very happy we got moved here as the hotel is more modern than the alcudia beach apartments.

The entertainment was mostly in German and the mini disco was all German which was a shame as there were a few English children too.
The two Male entertainers were very good and tried to get all nationalities to join in the day time entertainment, which we did and enjoyed.
Entertainment stopped at 11pm so getting to sleep was no problem the hotel staff were very good at ensuring noise was kept to a minimum.

The pool area was great, plenty of sunbeds which are not unchained untill 9am so it was fair for all, we were a party of 9 and never had a problem getting 9 beds.
Pool bar was fine staff very rude though :(

Rooms were typical of a 3 star spanish hotel we had no problems, balcony was large and great view of the pool.

Location of the hotel very good nice walk to the port and just round the corner from all the bars etc. There is a Spar shop opposite, but as we were all inclusive we didnt buy any food.

The only fault i found with the hotel was a lot of the staff were rude - however this didnt spoil our holiday.
For what we paid to stay here mid August i felt was well worth the money.

I would recommend this hotel to all ( if you want English entertainment i would maybe look elsewhere) But we still watched it !

“Fantastic family holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

Lovely, clean hotel in good position for beach. I read previous reviews regarding noisy rooms if placed on the side of the hotel and therefore requested a poolside room. We did request this but unfortubatly it wasn't granted and our room did therefore face the side street where there were 3 pubs. This was not a problem, 2 of them have closed down and the 3rd had no people in it so I would probably prusume that it also will be closing down soon. We were not once idturbed by any noise. We went half board and the food was lovely, it was varied and great choice. The restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly, especially Toni who made our boys feel very special. The pool was fantastic, plenty of facilites for all swimming abilities and plenty of sun loungers even though the Germans insisted on putting their towls on them from early and possibly not even using them until mid afternoon! That was the only downfall . . . the Germans . . . rude and ill mannered. My two boys loved the mini disco but again very German oriented as there were few other nationalities in the hotel. When the 2 girl entertainers did the show they made no effort to speak any English but there were 2 men entertainers who were much better and tried to get everybody involved. All in all fantastic holiday I would definatly recommend half board as to eat out it is very expensive.

“Dont go self catering !!!!!!!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

Booked through Thomas Cook . Flew out with on 30 th september for 2 weeks self catering at port d,alcudai hotel . Jet2.com from Blackpool, No problem . Had to wait on the coach for an hour and a half ( transunion) and then an hour and half transfer and arrived near 9 pm . Met by the receptoinist with the angry face , and got a studio rm 232 , on tuesday night the noise started at 12 midnight and went on till 6 am , i thought it was another room . NO ! Right across from us were two discos/late bars after 4 days off 2 hrs sleep a day , i upgraded too b and b and 168 euros later , still in the same room , with the rocking fridge , the uneven cupboards, limescale crud around sink tap. on saturday id had enough, so i upgarded again to rm 214 and 200 euros less. bigger room ,seperate sleeping area , even table and chairs !!!!!!. Staff Good , cleaners, reception (except for angry ,but she mellowed as the weeks went by), resturant, outside barmen . Near by on the main road is the epcot bar and the foxes head were you can get a meal and breakfasts if you want . Alcudia old town is good go on a sunday or tuesday which are market days get a taxi 5 euros , About 15 mins way is the marina and a shopping area where you can duty free , buy there cause the prices at the airport are way too high !.Plenty too do at night by going into town for a meal and some drinks , quite safe . But would not go there again as full of germans , who are the most ill mannered people around . There should be a rulling that a certain age men should not wear tight speedos , well in that case the germans would have no problem in winning that hands down everytime , there was some sights and they thought that they looked good .NOT !!!!!
