I chose this hotel because it was the cheapest deal. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. For the price I was expecting a bit shabby but not at all.
The hotel is on the edge of town in a residential neighbourhood by a large artificial lake. They have a smallish pool by the hotel and another on the lake, behind the hotel are hills. Nice peaceful setting, no loud bars or discos nearby, which is just what I wanted. Although on the edge of town its still only 5 minutes walk from the local shops/bars/restaurants and 20 mins walk to the beach, there is also an hourly free shuttle bus to the beach (6 days/week). Alcudia has the biggest and best beach on the island, with shallow blue seas and clean sand.
Spacious, clean, well maintained rooms, comfortable beds, cleaned and beds made daily, sheets and towels changed a couple of times a week. Basic UK TV channels with terrible reception but I don't go on holiday to watch TV. Wireless internet available in reception area €1/hr €2/3 hours and internet terminals.
Daily activities free, from archery to Quizzes, Shooting to Bingo. Nightly entertainment and shows.
Food was available for most of the day. 3 meals daily, and then snacks on the island and basic snacks in the restaurant, Bread, Cheese, cold meats etc.
Arrived late in the evening, and on checking in was told that there was snacks available till midnight..
Breakfast was usually a choice of freshly cooked eggs, bacon (not like home), sausage, tomatoes, beans, cheese, bread/toast, lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, cereals. People have complained that they serve chicken nuggets and chips on the children's section every morning, which they did but its up to the parents to let them eat it or not, plenty of healthy alternatives. Watery "fruit juices", tea, coffee, soft drinks etc.
Lunch and Dinner were much the same sort of thing, Soup, Choice of salads, couple of meat dishes, potatoes, pasta dishes, fresh fruit, cakes, ice cream etc. Its obvious they were catering to the Brits but most days they did one Mallorcan dish to try.
At the self-serve snack buffet in the pool area they had chips, burgers, sausages, bread, cheese, cold meats, salad during the day.
Quality of food was a bit like you get in Motorway services, a bit over-cooked to my liking. The food was often luke-warm, which is not good when it is standing for hours. One evening they made a huge sea-food paella, which then stood for 2.5 hours unheated. I also found the food very salty, I mentioned this to a few people who said they didn't find it so, but I've cut down on salt in my diet. I told reception about this, pointing out that it is easy to add salt at the table, but you can't remove it. However I wasn't expecting gourmet cooking for the cheapest rate.
Overall a great hotel if you like a bit of peace and quiet, plenty to do if you want to join in the entertainment but not overly pushy. I'd recommend this hotel and go again, but plan on having some meals in the hotel, and some out. Its not they type of hotel for those who never want to leave the hotel.
Take the bus to Alcudia old town €1.25, especially on Market day, for a cheap day out. Also Puerto Pollenca is a nice trip on the bus €1.50 along the coast.
One final warning, There is a lot of standing water around in the man made lakes and canals, and this means mosquitoes so take some repellent if you don't want to get bitten.
