Oh dear, this was a german camp!!, the food was poor, staff were rude, didn't get into our room for at least an hour, had to share a two table with 4 people and they were german, thank god for sgt peppers and the blues bar, cheers gordon and roda and steve, if it wasn't for them we would have gone nuts, stay away if your english!!

To say the bahia de alcudia is 5/5 is totally and utterly over-the-top. Yes if you have small kiddies, the hotel offers many features and facilities for them to enjoy. For instance, the many parrots are hours of fun (some even talk back), however the negative point of view is that depending on the side of your accomodation, the birds constantly yapp, and can hinder a good nights kip! There is also a pool table for the kiddies and adults to enjoy, while an internet portal at a cost of 1euro for 8mins. The swimming pool is also very good and is heated, however a lack of sunbeds was the constant theme, and many holidaymakers seemed unhappy to have to rise early, just to beat the other holidaymakers to beds...

Agreed the hotel boasts some niche facilities which makes it unique, however if you are expecting 3 star hotel service..forget it...if you get put on the 7th floor (or so), lifts only take 3 persons (excluding luggage) and are extremely slow. The food is not catered to an acceptable standard, while drink prices with meals are made riddiculous. Many couples have to share tables with other couples at dinner time, which can become uncomfortable, whereas the two meals (breakfast and dinner) offer the mouth-watering thoughts of chips, chips, chips (yes, chips for breakfast). Now im sure not one nation in the world eats chips for breakfast! lol

The hotel rooms are basic, but offer bath/shower, toilet, air con and fresh towels daily, so fair is fair, the room is an acceptable 3 * standard. However, one word of warning if you plan to travel in groups of 3/4's, the maids add beds to an already crampt room, allowing it possible to roll over from one side of the room to the other...

Overall, the hotel recieves a thumbs down for us and many couples which we travelled with, however if you can get this hotel for a week for under £250-300 pp it may be worthwhile, as the location is very good. However try the condes hotel next door (they have hourly entertainment instead of two activities a day)

I've been to Bahia de Alcudia 3 times and am goin again in a few weeks...this hotel is amazing...it is very welcoming and homely, the rooms are simple and spacious and well maintained by the maids daily. The restaurant, although slightly biased towards spanish or german style of food there was still a large selection morning and evening with friendly waitresses in the restaurant. The pool was simple and very popular with the kids, great lounge areas wher i spent a lot of times hanging out with friends, not to mention the gorgeous gardens with the exotic birds and park! The entertainment made my holiday, the entertainer Don Thomas was superb, friendly, funny, and fully entertaining for all ages! Activities all day for adults and kids then a different show each evenin including some spectacular professional shows for the family! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as it is very central to the beach and local town centre as well as being an excellent hotel for any family!

Me my partner and two children aged 10 and 5 stayed at this hotel during june 2003.What a lovely well run and clean hotel.The entertainment was brilliant there was a different show on every night.The food was lovely although could have a better choice for the children.The room we stayed in was very spacious and the maids did a wonderful job.The gardens are full of exotic birds which the children loved when they weren't already being entertained playing water volley ball or some other game with the entertainer.A fantastic lovely family hotel would stay here again if we were to go back to alcudia!
