“Overall good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

I booked first then read the reviews and was worried what we would find. We arrived late at night and with no parking nearby were dismayed when we found a shabby room but with good beds and a good bathroom. However, when we woke in the morning to a fantastic view and lovely position we cheered up. A great pool area aswell and the food was fantastic. Overall good experience. PS (I don't care whether the receptionist isn't friendly I don't go on holiday to make friends with the staff!

“Avarage hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

We stayed a week in July at this hotel. Our first impression were not that great. The hotel needs a fixed-up, and when we discovered that despite of what some website inform, there is no aircondition at this hotel, we were a bit negative. We tried to look for a fan, but they do not sell it in this city, you have to go all the way to Palma.
After talking to some of the other guest, the rooms differs a lot. We had a sea view(if they had removed the big tree infront of the terras), but others looked right into a wall, so that is a chance to take.
I read some reviews before going, and did not really know if I looked forward to our stay or not, but we went on a great offer, and took the chance. I agree on a lot of the reviews. The food is not ecxellent and the selection was at its minimum but it was well prepared, and if you are just looking to get full the food will do. Some of the guest had problems getting drinks served in the evenings, the staff does not have the greater overview and half of them probably should retier, but we found it a bit funny to watch. Maybe that is due to the fact that we travelled 6 people together, so we did not get overlooked.
The younger staff is very helpfull and smiley oppisite the elder.
I think what gives this hotel 3 stars is the great location, directly on the beach, as well as the wonderfull pool area. The previous reviews complain about the germans, and I must say that other nations are outnumbered, not only at the hotel but in the whole area. The staff do not speak english(very little) only german, and everything is written in german as well.
We did not have that great a problem getting a sunbed at the pool area, usually we could always find one, but there were occations were people left the towels and did not come back until 3-4 hours later, but we can not hardly blaim the hotel for this, but the inconsidered guests.
In total it is a ok hotel and you should choose it, if you can live without aircondition, want a hotel with great pool area, on the beach, and surounded with shops, cafe and resturants. Despite the need for some renovations, the hotel has a certain charm to it that you do not find everywhere.

NOTE! For our fellow danish, we would not recommend travelling with Østerlindet travelling acency.

“Excellent Value for Money”

We found the hotel fine.. despite previous reviews. Pool area lovely, and view from our room - sea and pool- fantastic! The rooms fine for sleeping in, getting ready etc, the bathroom was good, bath and shower - all very clean. The food.. OK not gourmet standard, but what do we expect when paying such a low price! The free wine & lager with evening meal, together with the happy hour in the pool bar was great - we hardly spent anything! The hotel is full of Germans, as is the resort, but it is what we expected after reading the reviews. (We still managed to get our towels on the sunbeds first though!). The weather had just turned from the torrential rain they'd had to lovely sunshine! The staff in the pool bar - Nicki and Carlos are lovely and friendly and nothing was too much bother for them! We'd definetly stay again.

“Fawlty Towers without the laughter”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2009

Avoid this hotel, staff very rude only three beds in the rooms we are a family of four told to wait 24hrs for another no bedding on my sons bed for three days no indoor swimming pool like states on website furniture from 1960's i think this really should only be rated a 2 star maximum, NOTE this hotel has lots of steps to it so no good for wheelchair and pushchair access.

PLEASE THINK BEFORE BOOKING THIS

“What a location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2009

My second visit to this hotel this year.
This hotel is literally built in the sea, views to die for.
It is fantastic value for money, especially the half-board option, this allows you FREE wine and/or beer with your evening meal .
The only negative is the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms, which is necessary when the external temperature is above 30.
