We should have stayed in Cala D'Or. After a 1 1/2 hour coach journey to the hotel that I very carefully chose, [it was a family orientated hotel with excellent facilities for both children and adults.] We were told at reception that they were full and we had been allocated a hotel in Peguera. I was told over the telephone by a representative that we should get a taxi and she would visit the resort to re-imburse me. Bearing in mind, we had a 6a.m. flight, I had my two small grandchildren with us and now we were going to have to travel all the way back the way we had just came. Ontop of this the taxi cost 100 euros. Nobody contacted us in Peguera and I could not get hold of them. Todate I am still 100 euros out of pocket. I am in the process of trying to recover this.
All this had nothing to do with Hotel S'olivera. However, our disappointment was intensified when we discovered it was a prodominately German hotel and resort. There was very, very little entertainment in the hotel for children or adults and what there was, was in German. Infact everything in the hotel and along the boulevard was in German. We therefore felt quiet isolated. The hotel was very clean and the dinning room nicely presented. The food was fair, to much fried food for our liking. We always got a table for 5 a both breakfast and dinner and there was never a queue for the buffet. The hotel is up a hill, so anybody with a disability or pushing a pram as we did, will find it difficult. I am not against other cultures, but obviously they have different food and entertainment preferences, a mix of nationalities at the hotel would have been nice. Language is usually not a barrier for children as children love to interact, but on this occassion that was not the case. I just wish that the person who makes the decission as to where to move you and the person who decides to accept you, would take all factors into consideration as after all its your hard earned money that paid for the holiday not theirs.
Room Tip: poolside rooms appeared sunnier, road view rooms shadowed by trees

Dear guests,
thank you for your comments. We are really sorry to hear that your hotel that don't belongs to our hotel chain was overbooked. As a favour to the hotel we accepted your reservation, but obviously that wasn't a good choice for you. It is true that we have very much german guests, and that Paguera is area that germans choose as one of it's favourites destinations. However, if you were looking for another type of Holidays we recomend to contact the agency or hotel you have booked to leave your opinion.
With kind regards,
