I last stayed at this Hotel 20 years ago when it was owned by Trusthouse Forte.The Hotel is just as good as it was then the accomodation is of a high quality the rooms both bedrooms and public rooms are spotless,the staff are excellent in fact there bare some there who were wprking for the Hotel on our last visit.The big,big disappointment was the food.It is all now buffet rather than waiter service and there is nothing wrong with that.Each eveningt was a different nationality buffet but it was sometimes difficult to tell the difference and some of the food looked unappetising.he desserts were almost the same every evening with always rice pudding and jelly,not the type of sweets for a 4star Hotel.Talking to other guests who have been going for many years this decline in food has been happening over the last two years,in fact many guests book BB and go out in the evening.I do hope that the new owners NH Hotels attend to this matter otherwise I feel they are going to lose business and are spoiling a really good Hotel.
