I last stayed at this Hotel 20 years ago when it was owned by Trusthouse Forte.The Hotel is just as good as it was then the accomodation is of a high quality the rooms both bedrooms and public rooms are spotless,the staff are excellent in fact there bare some there who were wprking for the Hotel on our last visit.The big,big disappointment was the food.It is all now buffet rather than waiter service and there is nothing wrong with that.Each eveningt was a different nationality buffet but it was sometimes difficult to tell the difference and some of the food looked unappetising.he desserts were almost the same every evening with always rice pudding and jelly,not the type of sweets for a 4star Hotel.Talking to other guests who have been going for many years this decline in food has been happening over the last two years,in fact many guests book BB and go out in the evening.I do hope that the new owners NH Hotels attend to this matter otherwise I feel they are going to lose business and are spoiling a really good Hotel.

The villamil hotel is well located, just at the Peguera beach. The view from the hotel rooms is beautiful.
The food (breakfast and dinner) is really of a bad quality, similar to canteen food. The staff in the dinning room is badly educated; loud and disrespectfull. The tennis court is about 30 years old and has never been renovated.
In conclusion this hotel is worth a 2-3 stars, but defintely not 4 stars.

Room Tip: Choose a room with sea-view.

Loved the whole experience of the hotel. We went with a group of eight people and we had a great stay. The hotel was quiet after about 10-11pm.
The gardens where relaxed yet fun, there was a great tennis court which was free from the hotel which we all enjoyed. The spa pool was also great for some of us that didn't like the sea.
The sea was only about 1 minute from my room which was number 31 on the ground floor.
Peguera is a lovely town and there is lots to do within 30 minutes on the bus from Peguera. the bus stop is only two minutes from the hotel reception. The provided us free tickets on to the glass bottomed boat which left from the pier at the bottom of the town that is only about 10 minutes walk. We only had lunch and breakfast in hotel. But breakfast was a wide variety of Spanish food in a massive buffet which was better than he have seen in many hotels and good enough for us. lunch was lovely we had it in the bar outside next to the pool although. the food tasted great there was only mainly sandwiches.
The reception staff were extremely helpful during our time there.
we will defiantly be returning in the near future.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms are great we stayed in 33 witch was right on the gardens and the sun came in...

Travelled with Thomson A la Carte 31 August. Paguera is predominate German resort,mainly apartments. Lovely horseshoe beach , very busy in the season.
Villamil hotel historic 4 star hotel , but has changed hands several times in last few years, with costcutting in the food and waiter service.
Thomson advertise A la carte restaurant. However this is small,only 5 nights per weeek with a supplement of 10 Euro per night to half board clients. Not as per brochure or by staff on their helpline.
The majority on half board eat in a "2 star " buffet restaurant, which could not wait to get out of each evening.Food is cold(soggy cold chips) and uninspiring and low quality. Head waiter is manic..

Breakfast is buffet. I found the hot food totally inedible,the worst I have found in the Med.Bacon made of plastic and cold.Eggs congield and hard. Shame as the tables are on a lovely balcony not used in the evening.
Pool is warm and plenty of sunbeds overlloking beach. Early risers get the best beds,but worth it.
Sea is shallow a long way out ,but very warm.
Entertainment poor,unless you are 80+ and like ballroom dancing.

We wanted to complain to Thomson during holiday,but there is no rep and phone numbers held by hotel were incorrect.Sent E Mail upon return home about food supplement,but no acknowledgement after 2 weeks. I wont go to Villamil again.

The sea view rooms are quite decent,nice views of beach. However the carpets in the corridors are disgusting and should have been replaced 10 years ago.

Staff are mainly helpful however the management do not care about food quality-just cost control.

“Don't book with an agent”

The Villamill hotel is my favourite hotel in Majorca but be warned if you book with an agent you will be given a sub-standard room as we were in June this year. As a previous reviewer has said all the best rooms go to regulars and those who have booked with the hotel. Having said this I love this hotel (a) for it's position and gardens and dining in the garden and on the terrace for breakfast although the standard of breakfast could be improved had better in all inclusive three star hotels. (b) the dining staff are all without exception helpful and pleasant and have been with this hotel for a long number of years. The reception staff generally good apart from senior manager who was very take it or leave it when we complained about our room.

Room Tip: Book direct with hotel and get a high floor with sea view
