I am writing this for my son who is dictating it for the review, as he went there on a club 18-30 holiday with friends 18 months ago and the experience still lingers! He is aged 28 and not the type to be a 'lager lout'.
"With 18-30s you dont expect 5 star luxury but this was something else! Check in was like a cattle market - no organisation - one female receptionist, who was swamped.
We were shown where the room was - it was the most spartan room I have evere stayed in - furniture was terrible - 4 camp beds, no wardrobes so we lived out of our suitcases! The bathroom was basic and dirty.
We went B&B and made the mistake of going down to breakfast on the first morning. The reps said it was a full English, basically it was a frankfurter cut in half, cold beans, egg that was cold and a rasher of bacon substitute that was also cold. Staff appeared to be surprised that people turned up for the breakfast.
The pool was not well maintained, chipped tiles, no safety or depth markings. The pool bar was basic at best (brochure says wide rage of food - for this read, frozen pizzas!)
Hotel staff appeared overworked.
Location is miles from anywhere on the top of a hill.
Nearest shop was half a mile away, as were the restaurants and the nearest bars.
Main entertainment was about a mile and a half away.
Basically all tourists going for the nightlife were treated like scum by the locals irrespective of whether we were drunk or not.
In conclusion I wouldnt return to this hotel or the resort if you paid me."
