“Lovely hotel!”

I stayed in this hotel in May 2011 with my boyfriend, we are both 20. We stayed for 2weeks half board. The food was lovely, something there to eat for everyone full fry up, fresh fruits and cereals. The rooms were spotless, clean towels and beds daily. The pool is quite small but why sit at the pool when the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the beautiful beach?! If you want to walk to Magaluf it is a 20 min walk, we done this daily there and back to go to Mambos outdoor bar which is brilliant! Entertainment from what I heard from my room was a lot of bingo and singing which went on until 12am. We went the glass bottom boat trip which was brilliant I would recommend this and also Western Water Park and the Pirate show! There were alot of older people staying in this hotel. We were out and about all day seeing the sights of beautiful Palma nova.

Note: To get to Magaluf it is 6Euros in a taxi.

“NICE HOTEL FOR OLDER PEOPLE”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Medium sized Adults Only hotel, mainly 50/60+. About 8 minutes walk to promenade (no sea views) and unfortunately backing onto busy dual carriageway so my room rather noisy as well as balcony in shade from about 10.30 a.m. onwards. Bedrooms OK and kept clean, TV one English station CNN News.

Food good, but rather limited choice. Pool area so-so. Only small outdoor pool and sitting area, as hemmed-in by high rock face so in shade for part of the morning, and only sunny until around 4.30 p.m.

2 reps did the daytime entertainment which was mainly for men i.e. pool, boules, etc, plus daily lunchtime quiz. Evening entertainment was again quiz and bingo (although bingo no longer done as apparently illegal!!). They also did the evening entertainment with bit of singing and dancing which was OK, and professional singing group twice a week.

Staff very good and helpful. One PC available. More of a 3 star, than a 4 star hotel. Wouldn't stay there again as prefer larger hotel with more outdoor space and better facilities and entertainment. Sister hotel next door (Hotel Palmanova) was much more spacious with loads of outside space and bars, with large pool and lovely gardens.

Room Tip: Ask for room at back of building facing pool to avoid noisy traffic.

“NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!”

My husband and i stayed at this hotel 14sep 11 and it is by no means a 4star,firstly the entertainment was beyond a joke! bingo every single night! no atmosphere at all and more like an old peoples home.the pool is tiny theres no view you have to look at a huge brick wall!! i couldnt wait to escape the hotel, the resort was lovely though.the only positive thing i can say is bernie the barman, the rest of the staff were rude! beware of the old lady with red hair that tells you its her last working day as a maid! on the make for euros you will see her again a few days later.
dont make the same mistake as me just dont go. thanks karen

“Not recommended!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My husband and I have just spent a week at the Palmanova Palace, 11 - 18th October, and I really would not recommend this hotel. It is by no means 4 star and certainly no palace!

After reading reviews on lack of security and breakins, we invested in a safe upon check-in..
24 euros for one week (Wow!) plus a 5 euro returnable deposit!
We decided it would be worth it for peace of mind..until, we got to the room to find that the safe didn't have a door!! It did get sorted, but, what a joke!
We also noticed that the door and balcony locks were very loose and looked to have been tampered with.

The staff were mostly very friendly, especially Bernie the very happy go lucky barman..despite working long hours he always had a cheery wave and a smile.

The restaurant didn't have any atmosphere, it resembles a school canteen, a bossy little head waiter instructed people to wait at the door until he invited them in and frog-marched them to a table, he was maybe just being efficient, but looked quite comical nevertheless!

The food was better some days than others, but in fairness there was a huge selection to cater for all tastes.

Rooms basic, but clean and towels changed whenever requested.
The pool area is small and cramped, I cant imagine what it would be like in busy summer months. The pool is allegedly freezing, though I did'nt try it myself.
It is also shaded and doesnt get much sun.

The entertainment is pretty poor, same quizes and bingo every day and night (the bingo halted on our last night until further notice, apparently due to not being licensed!).

There were 2 shows in the whole week, and as mentioned in a previous review, they should be auditioned first!

Tanya (resident entertainer) does try hard but resources appear limited. Ben, her colleague doesnt appear as dedicated though.

The one plus side of this hotel is the location, just a five minute stroll to the beautiful clean beach and marina, which is really pretty and lovely.

Overall i would say this is okay as a base, if you dont plan spend a lot of time in the hotel and like to go out exploring.

Majorca i would certainly visit again - just not to this hotel..

Oh and yes,, it definitley does cater for 'older' clientele - i reckon 65+ years...no disrespect to the elderly but worth bearing in mind.
.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are quieter, Try and avoid front facing rooms which overlook a busy road.
