“Really Awful. We fled elsewhere, sorry that we had wasted 3 nights.”

Where to start? A great location right on the sea, and some lovely staff who try their hardest dealing with some pretty rough guests. Having said that, one lady receptionist on checkin delighted at telling us No to our requests for help with bags etc, and dangled our keys with a smirk. We soon realized the joke - our 1st floor apartment overlooked a mouldy room which had not been cleaned since 1983 perhaps. I didn't even both unpacking my clothes due to the musty smell in the wardrobe. The rooms were downright depressing, dirty, and smelly, with the exception of the newly tiled bathroom. The kitchen was inadequate and old, and get this.....there are no locks on the balcony doors and anyone could have climbed in, with ease [as we were checking out a poor man was reporting a theft from his room to reception]. The decor is second-hand 80s conference facility meets derelict holiday house. The food around the pool was awful, but with kids we ordered a couple of times for convenience. My meat lasagna smelt like excrement, and at this miserable stage on day 2, I got teary. I was relieved when the waiter, noticing I had not touched the meal and sat shuddering, showed me the frozen packet (as they outsource the food and reheat it) so it just must have been smelly meat. The people around the pool included some rough, thuggish types, but with their kids in tow, were obviously harmless. But it was just a rough scene. At night we had to go on to the balcony to tell our neighbors to be quiet- loud drunk cackling at 3am. Anyhow, we fled to Ponent Mar next door, and for maybe a 40% price increase, we were in heaven. Maybe if we had insisted on a room change it would have been better due to the sad view, but it was just generally awful. Unless you need an entry level hotel to get to majorca, don't waste time being miserable in this dive!

Ideal setting for a relaxing family holiday!! Just back from 10 great days!! On arrival Billie greated us with a big smile and although their head office hadn't passed on our booking she was very helpful and got us sorted!! Try and get an apartment overlooking the pool and harbour/beach as these have the best views!! Very clean!!! Very safe!! within walking distance of 3 beautiful beaches!! Quiet in the appartments at night!! Staff fantastic!! Can't wait to book for next year! Amanda, David and Emily Manchester Aug 2010

“Another Fab Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2010

My wife & i stayed at this hotel once again from 20-29 May , i cannot add much more to this review than i previously said last year (see review May 2009). I would like to thank David & all the staff at reception for their friendliness & help to make your holiday as hassle free as possible. We asked for a top or upper floor apartment & they did not disappoint us the room was on the third floor with lovely views. The weather was 26-32C during the days we were there & no rain so no complaints on that side either. The only difference i noted from last year was it was much quieter in the Palma Nova resort during our stay which must be a worry for all the hotels & local bar owners. It seems as though everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment but hopefully things will get better soon. The one good thing from our point of view was it seems that you can buy food & drink a lot cheaper this year as everyone is trying to draw what visitors there are to their bars. Many of the bars are now selling a pint of various beers for 1.50 Euros most good, some pretty awful. But as we & our six friends who were all self catering in other hotels agreed we all noted that we didn't spend nowhere near as much as last year. So if you want a reasonably priced hotel in the quieter part of Palma Nova & have a much cheaper holiday self catering wise then look no further just enjoy.

“brilliant except for my room being let out to someone else”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 April 2010

Palma nova is absolutly brill for kids a really family area. The apartment is perfectly located 2 second from beach and about 15 minute walk to magaluf. We booked a private apartment though a website and when we arrived Dave on reception said there was someone else in it and gave us another room which was really nice of him. Since he didn't have to do that for me. But the owner of the apartment wouldn't talk to us or try and sort it out for us. Cleaniness of the room depends on the room u get. Location is fab. Rooms once again depends what room u get. Service would have been first class if it wasn't for the trouble with the room. It was a very quiet location. Would recomend the area.

“OK if you're a cheapo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2010

Generally, it's a run-down place built maybe 30 years ago, but it has its pluses.

First the good news:
The location is excellent, right on the beach of Palmanova, doesn't get any better than that. Also it's located on the dead end side of the beach, so traffic on the beach street is very low. Make sure you're in a 2-bedroom apartment, they are looking towards the beach... and make sure you're on the right side or upper floor, otherwise you will be looking just into the pine trees, but if they give you the right apartment, you will be overlooking the little yacht club of Palmanova and all three beaches - perfect!

We stayed in February, when temperature gets as low as 4°C in the night: no problem since they have a heating ventilation (a bit noisy though) plus an electric heater on wheels.

WiFi was ok in our room, you just buy the time at the reception and surf on your own laptop. There are also PCs in the lobby.

Reception staff was really friendly and helpful, it was low season though, don't know about high season.

They have a heated indoor pool, which seemed clean to us, we went several times and though it's no thermal water, temperature is just fine to stay a while even with low temperature outside.

Our room had quite new furniture, apart from the kitchen and bath room. The reception told us ours was a "good room", so maybe they say that to everyone anyway, or it means there are also rooms with old furniture.

Now the bad news:
Room cleaning is really bad. Two ladies show up every three days and it takes them about 5 minutes to clean ard. 40 sq.m. It's a joke. - Guys!! Give your maids Hoovers, wet rags and chlorine, and snatch their brooms away which they put to use very "selectively" anyway!! And make them clean that filthy kitchen! There's a cheesy smell below the sink, the light switches are all grime-stained, it's disgusting!

Ok, I get it: you're saving on personnel, room rates are low anyway,... but still: don't mess with cleanliness! This is what drives most customers away.

So the bottom-line is: it was really cheap, so we didn't expect much and weren't picky. If you're cheapo like us, eat out or spend the first day polishing the kitchen, and land in the right room with that view, you can risk going.
