Where to start? A great location right on the sea, and some lovely staff who try their hardest dealing with some pretty rough guests. Having said that, one lady receptionist on checkin delighted at telling us No to our requests for help with bags etc, and dangled our keys with a smirk. We soon realized the joke - our 1st floor apartment overlooked a mouldy room which had not been cleaned since 1983 perhaps. I didn't even both unpacking my clothes due to the musty smell in the wardrobe. The rooms were downright depressing, dirty, and smelly, with the exception of the newly tiled bathroom. The kitchen was inadequate and old, and get this.....there are no locks on the balcony doors and anyone could have climbed in, with ease [as we were checking out a poor man was reporting a theft from his room to reception]. The decor is second-hand 80s conference facility meets derelict holiday house. The food around the pool was awful, but with kids we ordered a couple of times for convenience. My meat lasagna smelt like excrement, and at this miserable stage on day 2, I got teary. I was relieved when the waiter, noticing I had not touched the meal and sat shuddering, showed me the frozen packet (as they outsource the food and reheat it) so it just must have been smelly meat. The people around the pool included some rough, thuggish types, but with their kids in tow, were obviously harmless. But it was just a rough scene. At night we had to go on to the balcony to tell our neighbors to be quiet- loud drunk cackling at 3am. Anyhow, we fled to Ponent Mar next door, and for maybe a 40% price increase, we were in heaven. Maybe if we had insisted on a room change it would have been better due to the sad view, but it was just generally awful. Unless you need an entry level hotel to get to majorca, don't waste time being miserable in this dive!
