“Clean and cheap.. dont book studio if you want a bed though! :)”

We stayed here beginning of June 2011. On arrival it is un clear of where to actually get into the hotel, but a rep from a bar showed us the way. The man on the desk was friendly, although we where just handed the keys and expected to find our room! A stag do helped us to our room and when we got in we where a bit shocked.. we had booked a studio room and when we saw the two sofas i expected they would pull out.. they didn't! We had a pillow each and a thin sheet, but on the second night we found itchy blankets in a cupboard. Fine if your just using it to crash out though! It was very clean and the bathroom was spotless!! We had clean towels at least three times in our eight night stay and they would give you anything if you asked at the desk. The balcony was a little dissapointing as looked over the next hotels pool and did not catch much sun. The Sol y vera pool was small and freezing, but there where loads of sun beds to use and it caught the sun.
It is close to everything and just a few mins walk to mc donalds, shops and pharmacy. Jokers bar is fab! 10euros for 2 hours drink as much as you like!!!
on last day there is a room for you to put your suitcses in and even scales to weight your case on. We kipped on the sofa for the last few hours in the reception because we where ill and tired! (Do not use reception toilet!! It had sick in and around it!)
Deff stay here if you want a clean place to stay where you can actually sleep as not too noisy :)

Room Tip: Do not book a studio room!

“Basic, clean, and spacious rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Ok my 2nd time to magaluf first time being in jungla (where my me and my parents got robbed, would never stay there again!!) I went to the Sol Y Vera October 2011. Its not a modern place but, it doesn't really matter, when your on a girls holiday. Our friend lost our suitcase due to someone picking it up thinking it was her case during transfers and the lady in reception took details so the company could contact us all. so for a while we were stressing about that. We got to our rooms 307 -8 - 9 best sleep really was in my room 308 as the bedroom is on the outside of the buiding. The other two were on the walkway of the landing so was a lil noisy when having lads on there hols on the same floor. Not to say we weren't noisy cause we were, a little cause it was our first one all togather, but we kept that in 308 as it was between both our rooms so no1 could hear ;)

Bathroom was very clean in 308, very spacious, kitchen was a bit outdated but worked, and had items able to make a quick meal like pasta to save a bit of money on hols, easy another to go to the spar underneath for basic stuff. Could fit 4 people in the room to share as there two mirrors (important for girls of course) Two sofas and two beds. The swimming pool only got sun in the morning, but was a nice little pool. There is a sun terrence which has sun for a lot of the day. so there no problem about getting a tan.

I actually liked this place as it was in an ideal location, not to far away from the beach, Mc Donalds, and Tom Browns was across the road (Best Food, the yorkshires are stunning as are the breakfasts!) I can't not mention Jokers either, as our rooms were opposite we spent a lot of time here, for food and drinks, the staff were lovely,

I got quite annoyned with the PA's on the strip, as I have been one before a few years ago, amd i was never shirty!! i wouldn't take no S@it of them, as we wanted to work our way up the strip. but we kept getting stopped by kids with attitudes one told us to f off as we said no to them.

I would stay here again, although, my room was fine, my mates had a few broken items in theres, whilst the summer season is over surely they will sort it out, cause the broken socket wasn't a good thing for three ladies sharing!! Doors seams quite secure too, make sure you double lock it though =)

So yeah if you just wanna base, to sleep while your here check this place out. Decent enough if you ain't fussy, and comparing to my last but one review of one in malia i had no complaints about this place. so yeah if anyone wants any more info masg me xx

Room Tip: If your on the outside wall of the building, you would probably get a better sleep then the inside w...

“nice one”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2011

Cannot complain one bit (well apart from one thing). The room was basic but clean. As soon as i got there, dumped the cases and straight into the nearest bar. To keep the room cool I kept the fan going and the sliding balcony door open.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only gripe i had was the room were you could leave your luggage before the taxi/bus to the airport arrives. It had no lock and anycone could walk in.

Brilliant place, value for money most definitley.

“location good, dated rooms,”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

id heard decent reports on the sol y vera so we gave it a go in october,
the room was old fashioned, (due a refurb) and ours only had 2 sofas / beds, with a kitchenette that could do you a cuppa etc. the cleaner might have come a bit more tho.
the beds were memory foam, i chose the 1 that a 18 stone big mamma had previously enjoyed ( how did i know?) our room had a sea view and plenty of sun(balcony) but an early evening kip resulted in waking up thinking one had possibly spilled a litre of agua over ones self.
on the plus side, staff were helpful when asked, in general the place was not a noisy horned up teenage destination so kip could be had. and the location to the 30+ crowd bars was ideal.
5 mins stroll from the beach, taxi rank nearby and a relative price made a good trip well enjoyed.

Room Tip: road side for people watching.

“Very basic but comfortable stay”

We stayed for for 6nights in September, when we arrived the hotel were very polite and greeted us with a lovely smile. We stayed on the 6th Floor. When we arrived in the room we realised it was very warm in the room as soon as we step foot through the door. The apartment itself was fairly big, very basic but ok. As soon as we opened the patio door the room cooled right down. There was no ceiling fans in this apartment at all but there was 2 floor fan but to be honest they were just blowing through warm air. The beds were comfy and the travel cot was in immaculate condition. We had our towels changed once in them 6nights. What i can say is im pretty sure the floors were never swept once as the floors were constantly covered in bits and sand. I like a clean floor especially with a baby and was abit disappointed they didnt sweep the floor. In fact i would have been quite happy if we had a dustpan and brush in our room so i could have done it everyday. Other than the points iv raised everything else was fine. Pool was ok, lovely view from balcony, friendly staff, central for clubs and bars, was quite at night time. I probably would stay here again. I dont know why people are giving these awful reviews as iv stayed in alot worse before.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor and our friend stayed on the 1st floor. Our view was great compared to hi...
