Went in July 2010 with a group of 6 girls. By far this is the best hotel that we found in magaluf, the bar staff, reps and recption staff are lovely and helpful. the hill isnt as bad as everyone says, really dont worry about it as we found it hillerous to run down singing songs absolubtely rote! the bar is soooo cheap a great way to get a drink at the start of the night. the rooms were great for the price, they had a kitchenette, fridge, all the pots and pans you could need and cutlery and glasses provided. The maids cleaned well the only bad point was one of the days she came a bit early and whipped the sheets off people sleeping. we found this hillerous as she popped in the door all excited going .. "Hola, I clean, I clean!!" very funny. Food was ok, but there are beautiful restraunts that are really cheap going down the hill and at the side of the beach. Bars and Clubs are AMAZING!! we only went to BCM once to see Afrojack which was brill but you deffo cant beat the red lion and mulligans upstairs. the MCP (magaluf club pass) is brilliant deffo do it! We found we got lots of free drink just dont be affraid to bargain with the pub reps!! Overall the Reps, Bar staff and DJ deffo made our holiday amazing!! the aptmosphere in this hotel is fab and by far the best. and btw if your a geordie shore fan this is the hotel that the pool party they went to was at!! :D I deffinately will be back here again ..... MAGALUF 2011 was BRILLIANT!! STAY HERE!!!! :D

Simple as the title says! What an amazing place. Us wolvo lads were a bit concerned prior to arriving after you hear all sorts of Magaluf tales, but Sotavento blue all our expectations out of the window! The staff are absolutely amazing, right from the reception staff through to Grant the DJ. Amazing, such an amazing atmosphere poolside where you can speak to anyone and have a good laugh, the fact they involve basically everyone (if they want to join in) in poolside activities such as drinking games, races, bellyflop contests and thanks to Bruce from our crew, also now poolside twister is great for passing afternoons away. Absolutely amazing 10 days there.

The rooms were exactly what you expect for the money, decent sized, we stayed in the room which slept 6, 2 bunk beds and 2 sofa beds were more than adequate, plus, it's maga[--]luf so who cares about beds as long as you have one at the end of a big session!? Air con was decent, balcony good size to pre drink on and that, bathrooms really smart too! Genuinely best hotel i've ever stayed in.

Drink deals are excellent as places down the strip can be expensive so you could pre-drink at the bar, 2 ciders for 5 euros, 2 lagers for 4 or 2 cocktails for 8 euro i think, food was well priced, full english is a must have, only 3 euros!. Excellent way to get smashed before you head down the hill to town! The bar girls were excellent, always served with a smile, an happy to chat to ya, what more ya need? Grant the DJ played a great mix of tunes, and enjoys having a laugh with everyone, RIco always around making sure your ok etc.

After 10 days there it was a right ballache to leave as we made so many new friends etc, and it was genuinely a great place to be. Also, to top it off, the pool parties here are outstanding! See you again this year! WOLVO LADS!

Big reccomendations here, 5/5! Dont go nowhere else in Maga!

well me and my fiance spent a week during the summer in the sotavento and were very happy it is only for people over 16 which was very good the pool was lovely and the poolside bar was good,the apartment itself was all you could need balcony a good size and beds were ok its in a very good location right at the top of the strip and about 400meters to the beach bit of a hill up to it but its grand,dj played by the pool all day aswell theres a little pub on the way down to the strip called the mint its very welcomeing and we spent plenty of time in this pub all in all a great holiday will def be back again

Stayed at Sotavento July 12th-19th 2011 and can honestly say was one of the best weeks of my life. Magaluf is an unbelievable place and whether you're looking to meet people, drink too much, hit the clubs, stay in the bars or just stand in the strip and chat you will love it! I wont remember everything in this review but I'll try my best to cover all the main things you'll be looking for before you book!
1. Rooms: We had to rooms of 4 lads, there were 2 actual beds and 2 sofa bed things. Anyone who comes to Magaluf and cares about the quality of sleep is very deluded. The moment your head hits the pillow you're out like a light if you've partyed hard enough! One night i slept on the floor another on the balcony on a chair, on of my mates spent 2 nights in the shower, and one of the lads slept on a lilo just for banter. BUT if you are picky then this is the best it gets in Magaluf and it really isn't too bad! We had cooking stuff, but never cooked, Having 8 lads everyone just ate what they wanted when they wanted. But there is stuff there to cook pasta/noodles etc if you're on a shoestring budget. the rooms are mad tidy and clean and as they take an 80euro deposit at the beginning try not to damage/break anything becuase they're so so hot on it, the maid will report it straight away. One of our mates drew all over the sofa, once they saw it they were not happy and he spent and hour cleaning it off with vodka and a sock (got rid of it, shows you the quality of the vodka). But mess isnt really an issue, the maids will do a bit here and there, but to be honest we didnt really care there was bog roll and that was all we needed. Finally, the rooms are great for predrinks, one night we had about 25 of us in one room playing drinking games and it was quality. By the end of the week we weren't leaving the room untill about 130 am just becasue predrinks were such good banter(literally invite everyone from the hoetl into your room, it's a cracking way to meet people and one of the best bits of the night). They say be quiet after midnight but we regualrly ignored this and they said nothing.
2. The pool/pool bar: Honestly brilliant pool, i never wanted to leave. A few of the lads were more up for the beach but I the pool was so good there was no need to leave! Chuck your towels on the sunbeds early to avoid disapointment, i.e. when you get in from your night out! A little word of advice, the pool is full of good looking people so if you're a munter or fat I'd stay away or you're going to feel pretty insecure( apologies for the brutality) Didnt really use the pool bar just went back to the room and got drinks, but seemed like it was always fairly busy. The DJ by the pool is quite a laugh and plays some alright music so cant complain! If you wanna get involved in the standard games he's always up for it, he does love to perve on the girls so enjoy!
3. Reps: Just don't be a mug and stay away, unless you're in a tiny group and need to get involved, even then its so easy to meet people! Its just overpriced and you can buy the single excursion/bar crawl tickets from other places for half the price. If you're like our group and were more interested in chatting in bars/on the strip definitely stay well away from week pass becasue you just won't use it! Once the reps realised we weren't going to buy anything they just left us alone which was decent, be strong and they'll get the message!
4.Security: we didnt get anything stolen from our rooms and left stuff al over the place and our front door and patio open all the time! This is literally the safest hotel ever! The maids never stole either, you can get a safe fior 25euros and for passports and tickets its probably a good idea! In terms of a security guard, there effectively isnt one. He ltierally doesnt care who you bring back, how drunk you are, what time it is or how loud you are. It is so chilled out and you'll have no worries bringing women back.
5. Clubs and Bars: There is something for everyone, you literally can find a place that even the grumpiest person will like. They're all similar prices etc and all busy! BCM is a must, try and go on a decent night though, not popcorn or foam party. We were lucky to catch the 1xtra show and saw chase and status, jakwob, westwood etc was incredible. Alex's bar and office are decent little free entry bar/club places if you're looking for the ebst of both worlds. Honestly though if you're a sociable group you'll spend most of your time in the street than in the clubs and bars.
6. Pirates: The best show you will see, it is worth every single penny. If you do nothing else for the week make sure you do pirates! and bargain with the cocktail man he'll sell it to you for pretty much whatever you offer him and combined with the free sangria you end up with a decent predrinks as well as a great show.
7. Beach: is really nice and if you're a beach person it won't disapoint. Near the sotavento end of the beach is a little bar called foxy's that is brilliant, its got little been bags and cushions on the floor and you drink cocktails eat pizza/nachos and look out over the beach and sea.

All I can say is go to Magaluf and have the time of your life! Ignore whatever people say and just make what you want of the holiday and you'll never forget it!
