Aug 31st-September 1st 2009. The worst hotel experience I have ever encountered...
As a group of five 20yr olds we returned to Majorca for a clubbing holiday. We found this hotel on its own website, a modern, contemporary looking website. First appearances are a block of rundown flats, no swimming pool, no reception and a couple of metres opposite the busiest clubbing road in Magaluf . The manager and his wife who live at the bottom of the block of flats took our cash as we paid on arrival. We moved into our rooms and went to the beach, returned in the evening to find that another group of holiday makers had moved into our room!!! I
n shock we complained to the manager [who speaks no english] and he didnt understand and threatened to throw us out onto the streets at 11pm!! He bashed on the boys room door and aggressively made us return the girls room key and all five of us had to kip together in the boys one room. We couldnt all leave the flat in case he had given the boys room key out as well and someone might walk in and steal our stuff. Terrified that he might return we attempted to sleep as drunken people screamed down megaphones during the early hours and the nightclub beats vibrated through my ears.
The next morning a Spanish speaking friend explained to the manager on the phone what had happend. After accusing us of trying to smuggle in extra people :S he reluctantly apologised returned the majority of our cash. [Turned out he had given people a room 9 key which was our room instead of room 6]. That old trick! We promptly moved to another hotel which the boys had searched out the night before admidst the panic.
The manager had also double booked the hotel and many people arriving were left roomless.
The room: No aircon...sooooo hot, no glass in window...soooo noisy I cant begin to express how loud it was all night, single paned windows of those that did exist, jail bars us at shower window, kitchen and bathroom really dirty, couldnt unlock main door as it was duff so manager had to do it for us, bathroom handle was broken in both rooms so we got stuck in there several times.
Men who sell gadgets on the streets outside nightclubs would walk up the dark stairs to the flats in the night and try to sell you silly hats etc.
I really do not recommend this hotel for your own saftey. Book through a well-known travel agent and always get a safe in your room.
