“Just go for the location, not for a decent sleep”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

We stayed in 2 rooms 102 and 105 for one day/night as we had been staying in the north and had to check out of our rented Villa, and C'an Pastilla is 5 mins from the airport. I had used the Rodes bar on a recent previous visit, as they have free WIFI. The rooms are small, but the view was nice as we had sea views, the balcony is a about a meter wide so is not really a place to sit, for the price I had no complaints, the breakfast was buffet but fine, the WIFI only worked sporadically as they had ISP problems (not their fault), but the fact that the walls are made or cardboard is!! You can hear every sound from the adjacent rooms, TV, bathroom noises, and things you don't really want to hear. I would only stay here for a short stay, unless I was crashing at 3 am and dead to the worldthough

“Small dark room and a rude boss”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2009

We had booked a room with seaview and were stupid enough to pay the whole stay before seeing the room. It didn't have seaview and it was dark and very small! Two small windows but the only thing you could see was walls, close!
When we wanted to change to another room the guy who checked us in didn't know anything and said that we had to wait for "boss". So we waited for him almost two hours and I can say that is wasn't a pleasant experience to meet him. He was very rude and aggressive, and he said that the hotel was fully booked so we could by any chance change to a seaviewroom. When we said that we wanted our mony back he said it was impossible since we had paid by card...
After a while, when beeing very rude, he realized that we already had booked a room at another hotel he agreed to give us our money, but not all of it, we had to pay for one and a half night!
We were supposed to stay there for five nights, so that was a lot of money, but we wouldn't have wanted to stay there because of the room, but mostly because of the "boss" who was really mean.
Perhaps the hotel was nice, but we didn't have the opportunity to experience that...

“An average stay at the Rodes Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2009

The Rodes hotel is in a lovely location, right on the beach with amazing views. We requested a sea view room through our travel operator but on arrival was shown a small dark room on the other side of the hotel. When I confronted the manager about this issue, he said this special request option through the operator means nothing to him and his hotel. He then went on to say he has a spare sea view room available but wanted an extra €50 to change our room. The breakfast is limited as sometimes the “hot” food is cold and the cold items are placed too close to hot plates.

The whole area of C’an Pastilla is 100% German orientated, and found it very difficult to find an English speaking shops and restaurants, this really limited the choice of what can be done. We eventually found a lovely restaurant called “Mar restaurant” which had an English menu, food lovely, excellent and friendly staff with a great atmosphere.

Overall the 8 days we were there were lovely, if you are thinking of staying in this areas consider staying in a half board hotel or learning German. The beach is lovely though in the afternoon things can get very windy meaning flying parasols.

“All Roads Lead To Rodes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2009

Been to Can Pastilla many times, Marina Luz is now to expensive,Alexandra Dor is just plain filthy.serving inedible food ,El Cid is full of Germans,so to find Rodes was heaven sent. No pool ,but i went next door to the El Cid & used sun beds & pool , so no problem. Give the Rodes a try & you will not be dissappointed.

“Good value for money - no frills, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2009

This hotel is so close to the beach you can leave your stuff on the sun loungers whilst you have lunch in the hotel bar. The rooms are very average but are cleaned daily and the air con worked well. There is a TV with lots of German channels in the room which are semi erotic after 9.00pm. The hotel suffers a little from noise at nights but amazingly this was from German familes next door rather than drunken revellers. There is very little nightlife nearby apart from Ricky bar which is a scottish style boozer. I suggest contacting the hotel in advance to request a balcony room with sea view. Close to airport and can pastilla town centre. Short bus ride to Palma.
