When we arrived we were very satisfied. The room itself was good. We were half board and the food was excellent. The 6 towels were changed everyday. In 5 day the clothes of the bed were changed twice. The common areas were clean and pleasant. Hotel staff were really friendly.

if you like cockroaches, rude staff, tiny pool,unclean rooms and boredom then this is your place. found live and dead roaches in the rooms which looked like they had been there for ages. when complained about this staff just shrugged there shoulders and that was that. pool in the pictures are so unreal that your bath is probebly bigger. would NEVER go there again not even if it was free. good luck if you descide to stay anyway.

Having read previous reviews I was extremely concerned about arrival. However, when we arrived we were very satisfied. Having a small child of 19 months we were worried but the staff and other residents could not have been anymore child friendly. Ok, the hotel is probably not a 4 star, more a 3 but the location was great. When we arrived, reception staff were really friendly, they gave us a seaview room straight away and even gave us a choice. A cot was put in the room for us. The room itself was ok, yes a little dated but how long do you stay in your room whilst on holiday! At least there was a decent bathroom with hairdryer etc. The balcony sat two people easily. I'm not sure what other rooms without seaview were like but many of the hotels in Can Pastilla do not have seaviews!
We were full board....the food was excellent. As this is a Spanish hotel, the food was typically Spanish....which was great. There was a lot of choice, even for me as a Vegetarian. The hotel catered very much for Spanish residents, which again we loved, as yes we were in Spain! Not once did we feel uncomfortable etc. We tried to use the Spanish language, as much as we could. Staff were able to speak some English, so never a problem. In fact we preferred to experience the Culture. My daughter loved it! She now says Hola!
I'm not sure if the food etc changes when in peak times but our stay was 9th - 16th July.
Entertainment was very little but again it wasnt really needed as we walked every evening and visited bars etc. As we had a young child with us, the hotel was great on an evening of not being noisy. C'an Pastilla itself is pretty laid back. If you want more entertainment then Arenal is within walking distance.
The only downside to this hotel was the swimming pool size. Its tiny with about 8 sunbeds. Not a problem for us, as we had the beach right in front and spent most days at a neighbouring pool (The Alexander) just around the corner.
We would definately return to Las Arenas, as this is right next to the harbour and very good price. We went with a group of friends, whom were staying in other hotels and they all commented on what a great deal we had got!
Las Arenas may not be everyones choice but it definately allowed us a fantastic holiday.

The rooms are really small and dingy with old furniyure.There is no sea view only other roof views.
no room service no tea coffee machine.It does not deserve a 4 star rating at all.
Would recommend it to no one.there are much better hotels on the beach for lower prices....go somewhere else!!!!!!!!
The photos on the net are misleading do not get fooled.
