“Clean room, beautiful view, delicious food and friendly staff :)”

Hotel Miraflores was a pleasant surprise for us. :)
We had a room on the 3rd floor with a seaview. The room was clean, with 3 beds (we don't know why we two have got 3 beds :)), bedside tables and dressing table with a mirror. Another big mirror was situated at the inside of the wardrobe door. There was TV which you can also use as a radio, so every night before going out we had excellent music at the room. :) Bathroom was spacious with a bathtub. Balcony had table and chairs. Air conditioner and safe are not included in the price and safe costs 2 eur / day.
Many compliments for very kind and friendly staff! They all really made our holiday even more beautiful. Food at hotel Gala was delicious. ;)

“Tripple C - cheap, clean, comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

I've spent 10 days in hotel "Miraflores", during my summer vacation. It's a bit old-fashioned, but the first impression was very good. When you enter the hotel on the left side there is a lobby, straight ahead is a bar (billiar table, ping-pong, darts are free) and a (small) reception and, on the right is way to the pool. I got the room on the 1st floor, so it wasn't necessary to take a lift, which is also old-fashioned but it functions properly. I've stayed in a room with two separated beds (which, if you want, can be put together). Thee room was quite OK, very big with a great bathroom. The TV is included in price (but there are very few non-spanish channels) and an air-condition has to be payed. There is also a basic furniture (table, chair, mirror etc.). One small objection is for a telephone which was out of order for all the time I was there. The bathroom is very roomy, with a toilette, sink, a bathtub, even a bidet. All that was very clean. Towels were changed every day.
I didn't have a sea-view room (it's not essentially for me) so the terrace had a view on the street, which was very crowded and with a lot of traffic, even in the night, so it could be a bit disturbing for olther people, but for me it wasn't matter. The terrace is big wit two plastic chairs and a table, nice for a morning coffee or some rest.
In front of the hotel, looking at the sea, is 14m long and 3m deep swimming pool, which I didn't use too much but it is nice, with a sea water, two showers and free sunbeds around.
This hotel doesn't have it's own restaurant and the meals are in hotel "Gala" which is just opposite the street. The food was excellent, with a great choice. Breakfast was mainly continental, like, eggs, jam, ham, cheese, cereals, croissants, infusion etc. and for dinner, there was always at least 4-5 meals (spaghetti, french fries, meat, fish...) plus dozen of salads and desserts. Drinks are (of course) not free.
The staff was very kind and helpful although their english wasn't at the highest level (actually, I'm not sure they even know it). But, every suggestion or compliance was regulated in a short time. The chambermaid cleaned the room (and a terrace) every day and the sheets were changed once in a week. I have no reclamation for their job.
And now, the best of this hotel is it's location. It's situated about 50-60 meters far from the long sandy beach (1 min walk). On the corner, there is a "Burger King" for those who dislike the food (although it's very difficult), and it's actually at the begging of a promenade that borders the sea. In front of the hotel is a bus stop (busses 15, 28, 30), and the stop that leads in other direction is in the other street, but not more than 2 minutes walk. Very close is a supermarket, called "Eroski" and, alongside the beach are sitauted small shops with souvenirs etc, but it's for some another review.
Summarizing - for the 2* hotel it's more than excellent!

Room Tip: The rooms that are looking on the street are a bit noisier.

“Close to the beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2010

The hotel was close to the beach and we had a view on the see from our room. The balkony was quite big with a table and two chairs. The rooms are very basic but clean. It's the same with the bathroom. We had a bath there. The mainadvanteg is that it is just 15m from the beach which is really big and beautiful. We had meals in the hotel Gala opposite the street.

“Tired & cheap but in a good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

Stayed here for one night after arriving on a late flight as hotel on bus route from airport.
Room spacious but v tired furnishings/decor.
Breakfast in Hotel Gala across the road - poor choice & poor quality of food.
Very close to beach.
Cheap & fine for one night but if you were staying for longer I think you could find a better hotel with better facilities for not much more money.

“A very tired hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

The Miraflores is a slightly shabby hotel near (but not quite on) the sea front at Can Pastilla. The higher floors at the front have reasonable sea views though there are some buildings between you and the view. The entrance (up 5 or 6 steps) and small reception desk are grubby and uninspiring; the ancient lift was functional but not terribly clean. Our room (on the top/5th floor) had a reasonably good sea view, but was very shabby - cables taped to the wall, and a very stale smell (which I assume was cigarette smoke). After buying and emptying a large canister of air freshner into the room, it was a lot better.

Breakfast was provided across the road at the Hotel Gala (under the same management), and was more than adequate. The bar, lounge and other public rooms at the Miraflores seemed to be unused at this time of year.

If you pay the cheapest rate, accept a non sea-view room and don't mind shabby public areas, maybe it's a reasonably tolerable cheap bed for the night. But if you pay extra for a sea view, breakfast and air conditioning (essential even in September), then I would have thought that there were other better value places in Can Pastilla.

One footnote. I noticed that all the rooms below the 5th floor had new doors; perhaps the rooms had been refurbished too - I don't know. But our room on the top floor had an original door and had definitely seen better days. Avoid.
