“Good for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2012 NEW

If anyone has read my previous reviews, you'd see why they were not so great! This 3* hotel, was excellent for the price. We could not get into our usual Hotel so chose this one instead and took a chance.

Ok, from the small street it's in the initial appearance isn't as inspiring as those set back with their own drive, but from the moment you walk in, the service from the staff is really pleasant and polite, very welcoming! We stayed here for 3 days for a long weekend, the location was perfect for us, easy access to the Beach, shops, bars and restaurants, plus bus stops just a minute away!

Rooms were clean and tidy! Which is a must for me. They are not particularly big and the layout could be a little better, but is functional! Beds were not Hard and uncomfortable, air con, TV, Wardrobe, balcony, safe box (deposit required) available...what more do you need to just sleep in when out enjoying the views and local amenities at all other times. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but the Hotel does have a 24hr Bar, reasonably priced and they are more than happy for you to take drinks to your room.

We stayed just Bed and Breakfast, It's a basic Breakfast buffet, but more than adequate unless you want a fry up. Toast, Yoghurt, Fruit juice, tea, coffee, croissants, cheese and sliced meats, some cereal and a few other Continental choices. For me this was a case of not trying to be more than it is, which is why it works!

The decor throughout is ok, it is maintained and room improvements were being made to some rooms during our stay, which for me is a good sign that they know that there is always room to improve, instead of settling for just what they have. (keep it up Gala!)

A few niggles, in case this may bother you. The road out the front can get a little busy, but we stayed on the 3rd floor so wasn't so bad, so would recommend 3 or higher. The lift in the hotel is small, four people could be a squeeze and is a little jumper as of an old design, but is in good working order, but if lifts are an issue for you, keep this in mind. (Personally we just thought it was funny)

I have already recommended this hotel and will certainly consider using this again.

“Clean, friendly and good location but food poor.”

After checking out all the reports before booking we where very disappointed with the evening meals.The range of food available at their buffet evening was very limited and of poor quality.These consisted of;
Starter; warm clear soup, lettuce, tomatoes, pickled veg beetroot and stale bread from breakfast.
Main ;breaded fish,chicken drumsticks,continental sausage,pizza,pizza with a crust on top,pigs
trotters, thin pork chops and beef burgers.Main was any three of these per night.
Desert;tinned peaches, pears and pineapple, cakes and tubs of ice cream.
The only night that was any different was Sunday night, as you had the left overs from Sunday lunch which all the locals come to the hotel for.
Breakfast was a very good continental breakfast buffet style and a good range to pick from.
The hotel is in a great location just 5 mins from airport by taxi, but be where it cost us 6 euros
from the airport and 13 euros going back. You can get the number 21 bus from the airport which stops just down the road from the hotel at 2 euros each.
The hotel is on a main one way street but is only 500 meters from the beach.Across the road from the hotel is a garage so with the traffic it can be noisy if your room is on the front of the hotel.
There is a pool at the hotel but this is at the front next to the main road and is very small only having 8 loungers and 2 tables. You can use the pool at their sister hotel across the road but this is very run down, with about 15 loungers some broken.
The hotel is from the70s but is very clean and well kept.
All the staff in every area are very friendly and helpful.
Over all this hotel is a clean, friendly and in great location from airport/to beach, but i would only recommend going B+B,this being what 75% of people seam to do.

Room Tip: Check price of taxi from/to airport . cost us 6 euros from and13 euros to. Number 21 bus from/to a...

We had booked this summer holiday at this hotel, due to some misunderstanding we were moved to apartment. We used HOtel Gala just for the half board. What a lovely food we had, breakfast buffet was tasty and had plenty of choice /kids loved the chocolate croissants, variety of cereals../, the dinner was buffet full of sallads, seafood, traditional dish /kids loved the fries :-( and pasta, soups were great/. I recommend the Sunday Buffet, the price is about 13 EUR and is absolutely lovely, popular for the locals. The staf were so friendly and helpfull, the hotel is very clean and the beach plus the airport is so close, which we found very convinient. Highly recommended and good price!

“Good value, clean hotel, excellent base!”

Stayed one week at the Amic Gala as a last minute budget holiday. It is declared a 3star and if star ratings are based on cleanliness, location and friendliness of staff, it should have 5. Though it is older fashioned (kind of 1970's! ), it is extremely clean, staff are always tidying, cleaning, they never stop, but are always courteous and helpful.
Restaurant operates on a help-yourself-buffet basis. Food was good, fresh, always found something to eat and always plentiful.
Aircon is 50euro per week or 9euro per day, room fridge 14 euro per week, safe 14 euro per week.
Some efforts have been made to update some of the aesthetics, but overall this is a comfortable, friendly, very clean hotel, don't judge it by its 1970's look
Location is superb, beach at Can Pastillon is LESS than 2 minutes walk from the hotel front door ,a really beautiful sandy beach which is also well cleaned, water extremely clean also, a very pleasant sunbathing/swimming beach.
The beach and esplanade extends eastwards to Arenal which is about 3 or 4 miles along and a great walk with pleanty of watering holes on the way. Arenal is very much younger, livelier, lots of German bars, restaurants and young German visitors, beach much more crowded here, so it was pleasant to head back to the quieter, more relaxed area of Can Pastillon.
Plenty of cycle/moped hire available at Can Pastillon and there is a cycle path along the coast to Palma, well worth the effort, lovely route, very flat, no tortuous hills to contend with! Bike hire starts room 7euro per day.

Overall, Can Pastillon a very relaxed/relaxing resort, all ages but doesnt seem to attract the single sex very young groups. Saw no OTT drunkeness, very family orientated resort with lots of holidaying Spanish people too. Windsurf, kite surf, paddle board hire all there too. Good choice of eateries if you fancy eating out. Very relaxing place, the Amic Gala an excellent, clean base
Taxi from airport to Can Pastillon 12 euro, taxi from there to airport 9.65 euro, its about 3km !!!

Room Tip: Room 362 3rd floor faces onto busy street but also hills & trees. Some others might not be so go...
