I stayed here with my wife and our 3 year old daughter during the first week of September 2010. I read many reviews before booking and they were almost all positive. Our stay here matched our high expectations. The food is excellent. Breakfast is a very nice buffet with lots of variety, all high quality and a friendly omelette/crepe guy. If you choose half board then dinner is a different theme menu every night (eg Mexican, BBQ, Japanese, etc), or you can order off the menu. But either way the food is excellent. The staff are all very friendly, especially Jorg, Luis and Suzanna, but everyone really. They were happy to cater to our little one being difficult which was fantastic and much appreciated. The week we stayed I would say about 80% of the guests were Germans, as Dorint is a big German hotel chain. But this should not concern anyone as by & large the guests were as friendly as the staff and all the staff spoke English. The hotel has a nice kiddie centre with outdoor section that offers free childcare. But the hotel is not specifically set up for kids, so don’t expect separate wading pools or a playground. The beach is 10 minutes walk away and is fine, but it does get busy as lots of people tend to use it. We ate in as its easier with our daughter, but others regularly took an easy 10 euro taxi to Port of Andratx, with many dining options and nice harbour views. The golf course is 85 euros for 18 holes, and that includes compulsory cart hire which you definitely need as there are a few hills and long walks between holes. The course is quite good, but a bit narrow in places, so you are often better off leaving the driver in the bag for some holes. They had a sundowner rate of 50 euros after 4pm which was a bargain. The driving range is basic but does the job, with plenty of driving room, plus a good putting area and a chipping/pitching green with bunkers. Range is free for guests but ball tokens are 5 euros for about 45 balls. Guests gets 2 free tokens per stay. The gym was good with latest weight & cardio machines, but no heavy free weights. My wife enjoyed the spa treatments and though the pricing was reasonable. Overall this is a great hotel. After staying in many Spanish 4-star resort hotels that were fine but nothing special, its great to have finally found a place that is truly 5-star. Of course its more expensive but we thought it was worth it.
