Seems to be some very mixed views about this hotel. I would imagine there are some bad rooms and some good. Our room luckily was excellent. Fourth floor overlooking the pool and the fantastic sea views.
The two bed apartment was spotless and not at all dated. The staff were very friendly. The maids, people on reception and bar staff were all good. If you wish to just stay at the hotel, this place is probably not for you, little entertainment as virtually everybody does go out. The main kids rep, is not good, she just latched onto one family during our stay. Even when the organised water polo was on, she was just playing with this families baby.
We even saw her a mile from the hotel in the early hours with them. Now you might think so what. Nothing except everytime this family won anything they got a prize in the form of a cocktail or something. When on the rare occasion anyone else won they received nothing.
If you do not go to Magaluf, not a lot going on entertainment wise at night. The stadium bar has cabaret about 11.30pm, be prepared to py though. Smirnoff for example is £6 per bottle.
Everything seems to of gone up since our last visit 6 months ago. Basics £3.50 portion of chips, around £2 for any ice cream or drink or bar of chocolate if you have kids
Good value, crazy golf course not the fantasia one is around £15 for 4 and is an enjoyable 18 hole course. Peadlo's are good fun around £11 for an hour

We decided to book a "cheap n' cheerful" holiday in Mallorca and booked into The Roc Portanova Apartments. Big mistake! On arrival our room had an overpowering smell of cigarette smoke in it and there were no fresh towels in the bathroom. We rang reception and the night porter called to the room with towels and said there was no smell of smoke and no room we could change to. Eventually we were moved to a room on the ground floor level that overlooked what appeared to be a loading bay / commercial entrance to the hotel. There were lots of ants on the floor and from about 5am onwards we were awoken by delivery trucks to the hotel. So the next morning we asked if we could be moved again. At this point we were thinking of moving from the hotel. To be fair the hotel did offer to move us to a bigger / better room or refund our money so we could move somewhere else. We had a look at the room they were suggesting which was on the third floor with a sea view. Honestly, the room was OK so we decided to stay for the duration of the holiday. Unfortunately, we wouldn't go back again as the hotel is just generally very old and appears quite run down. It is very cheap to stay there so I guess it just depends on what you are willing to settle on. Personally, we couldn't wait to get out each day / night and wished we had spent more money on a better hotel as it would have made for a much better holiday.

We have just returned for the second time in the last four weeks having stayed at the roc portonova. we stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a great sea view. Pool very noisy till late in the evening. The staff at reception are fantastic especially David. The apartments are in a fantastic location, with excellent restaurants near. The rooms have a well equipped kitchen, with full size fridge freezer. Would defo return if guaranteed the rooms on the front.

we stayed in these apartments with our 3 children aged 4, 7 and 10, we found them very spacious and clean, but in need of an update, we had a lovely view of the pool and beach. The apartments were in the quiet end of palma nova which we prefered but the apartments were very noisey as you could here everything from the people next door to the people above, we did not get very much sleep. The apartments were not very secure, i would recommend you hire a safe if you stay here.
