“Great family holiday at hotel samoa”

Went on a last minute break with family to hotel samoa last week of october.originaly wanted another part of island we stayed in before but couldnt get but travel agent suggested this one and im glad they did.on arriving the hotel reception was very modern looking with plenty of chairs and sofas.receptionist was very helpful and spoke fluent english which was a relief. Our room was good also . Cleaned daily and good view over sea and resort. Was on the top floor . Lifts were not that noisy to keep you awake so forget prev comments by others. Pool and beech were fantastic.breakfast and afternoon meal were spot on. All fresh and variety very good.the dinner time was not as good but still lots of variety and if you dont find something you like there is something wrong with your head. All in all I thought food was relative with what I paid. Some restaurant staff very cheeky and ignorant. Were very cheeky to my child on one occasion. That was the only negative thing about the stay. Bar was good with lots of variety and staff very friendly and quick. Kids entertainment was brilliant with staff working very hard . Adult entertainment was also good. Again it was what I expected for what I paid. I would suggest this hotel to others to stay. By the way weather was fantastic . Anybody reading really bad reviews ignore it.

“don't go end of season”

we visit calas de majorca in july, staying at the balmoral, another hotel range, whilst there,we visited the samoa and was pleased what we saw and was looking forward to staying there.
hotel very clean and tidy, staff spot on,doing there best to please the guest, nice to find an englishman on reception, lol, stay clear of the french tour opperater, very ignarant.
pool freezing, lol, didn't stop the kids from going in,kept clean and the life gaurd doesn't allow inflatables in the pool,so word of advice, don't buy them,as the shop accross the road has plenty for sale.
room clean and tidy, clean towels dialy if needed.
now to the bad side, the food in the resturant was bad,if u like chips, salad and pasta,u'll be ok,every day it was fish of some sort, fatty meat and strange things in batter, but we believe they was using up there stock, with it been close to end of season,
but,the grill bar was fantastic, mixed meat burgers, ohh there was lovely, couldn't get enough of them, lol, shame it closed at 6pm,
if we did go back to the area,i would rather stay at the balmoral.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 215,facing food court & beach,a few rooms away from the lifts, not the noise so...

“Great place to enjoy the sun in October:)”

Just getting round to writing a review,we stayed for a week all inclusive middle of October with our two children 10 and 8 and before leaving we read up on reviews an to be honest was abit worried but again everyone is different, we however found this hotel an area very nice an weather was lovely the whole week!!Nice to get away an get some sun in October an sit out till late at night, was so warm.
Arriving the hotel was very welcoming an staff were all helpful an our room was basic but nice. Was cleaned daily with fresh towels an all we needed didn't spend much time in it.The thing that alot have mentioned about is the food an that would be about all we could really fault about this hotel it isnt the best but like some say there is plenty an you wouldn't go hungry, but bit more selection would of been good.My kids however loved the fact pasta was always on the menu an my youngest is fussy but ate really well while we were here,no problems with kids they seemed happy with food an loved the day the pancakes were on the menu!Only other thing we found was juice machines were out of order or just werent working properly on couple of days but there was always water but we got drinks from bar which says not to do but what else do you do.Snack bar was average but nice if you needed it.Pool was nice kids spent most their time in it,entertainement was alright too the two that stood out for us i can't mind their names but the lady was from England an the Guy was from France they really seemed to enjoy what they do an were fun to watch but we found sometimes it was better to get in at evening entertainement early to get a seat with a good view of stage.Nice shops across road was nice to walk around at night having look an the beach is close which was nice, just mind ask reception for key card to get through the gate by the pool, quicker to beach.
Nice family holiday, lovely hot weather not much to do but bus stop is right outside to take you where you want to go.Transfers were long but nice to see some of the sights along the way.We enjoyed our time here an would go back.

“Second time...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

This was my second visit to the Samoa, I went the same half term last year with my two children, boy (11), girl (9). As I said in my previous review it does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a budget 3* Majorca all inclusive, what do people really expect?

The people that have slated this place have probably paid £1500 with Thomsons Holidays, I paid just over £800 all in, flights, transfers, hotel, everything, how can you possibly grumble at £800 for a week in the sun with all your food and drinks included?

The food is fine, all edible, mostly freshly cooked, always pasta, always fish, always fresh salad and fresh fruit and at least two or three main course options and, of course, chips! In the time I was there I saw people night after night eating a plate full of chips and ketchup, I even saw one boy, teenager-ish, who on at least two or three nights that I saw him just had a plate of sweetcorn, nothing else, just a dinner plate of sweetcorn. How can you give the reviews of people like this any credibility?

I went with my two kids, happily none of us are particularly fussy eaters, and every night we had a full, varied and nutritional meal. Pork chops, BBQ ribs, veal, rabbit, chicken, fish, how can you possibly pick fault?

The rooms are ok, not brilliant, but functional and clean, the beds are ok, bit hard but fine, again this is 3* Majorca and, apart from sleeping, we probably spent and hour each day in the room because we were on holiday and spent time round the pool or on the beach, like people do when they're on holiday, so let's have a bit of reality here.

I've now been twice and wouldn't have any qualms about booking again for next year if the opportunity arises, the hotel is basic but clean, functional and provides everything you could possibly want for a budget holiday, if you want 5* star luxury and a la carte food for next to nothing then this place is probably not for you, if you're sensible and expect to get what you pay for then you'll have a great time, as we have done twice.
