“so good we have booked again”

we stayed at this hotel in september 2011 and our first thoughts on arriving at midnight "dont like it" especially as we were told we were being put in the annexe!!! horror was written all over our faces. As we trudged round the corner we had made our minds up not to unpack our cases. But as we pulled back the curtains in the morning and looked out at the vista WOW get the cases unpacked we are staying. The only criticism i have of the hotel are the that of the dining room, not of the food which we found to be very satifying but the rules on dress code were being ignored, lazy rude guests going for evening meal still dressed in beachwear. Overall we enjoyed the holiday, clean rooms friendly staff palatable whisky served by friendly bar staff lovely cove for swimming as the sea was warmer than the pools public transport at the front door short walk into shops. As for the jerks who complain that it is not a 4* "get real" it is SPAIN and as most people know the star rating is rather different. We enjoyed our holiday that much we have booked again for june, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GLOBALES HOTELS GROUP. ps hope we get the annexe again as it was very peaceful. GO ON BOOK IT.

Room Tip: ask for a room in the annexe, no noise from the pool or entertainment. absolutely beautiful sunrise.

My partner & I stayed for a long weekend (4 Nights) must say hotel was clean, service was ok bar was mega busy and not enough staff to deal with the mad rush but sorted in the end, food was ok very much the same thing daily but what more can you expect.

Entertainment wasnt fantastic but all the same enjoyable, in summary Calas de Majorca is a quiet resort, with pleasant beach, hotel is clean & customer friendly an enjoyable time had would be good for family holiday :)

“crackin late deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

we got a late deal to hotel america in september 2011 all inclusive for around 200 pounds each , when we arrived we were told our room was in the annex room 501 this turned out to be much better than the main hotel. The view was lovely and it was much quieter. The food and drink for all inclusive very good. The main complaint would be that none of the food was labeled which resulted in my wife who is a vegetarian finding meat through some dishes where we didnt expect there to be!This hotel has a great kids club which seems to be the main focus of the hotel. The town itself is quiet with the usual tourist shops, bars and restaurants. The beach is a very short walk down the side of the hotel and there is a lovely walkway along the side of the cliff.Overall a nice hotel and area for a quiet relaxing holiday.I have attached a link to a local taxi firm which is ran by a welsh man.The coach transfer can take a very long time due to where the hotel is,so he is definatley worth the extra euros.Very good personal service with good local knowledge.

the only downside was the shower room we were allowed to use with our late check out
it was horrible, used wet towels that smelt damp and other items left behind by previous guests

Room Tip: The annex is much cleaner and quieter with beautiful uninterrupted views over the sea! The sun rose...

“Great first family holiday abroad”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

This was our first family holiday abroad, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 6. We met friends from home with same age children. Booked 11 nights all inclusive, early August 2011.

Room:-
We had a family room on the 7th floor overlooking the pool bar on the end of the hotel, it was huge. The room was cleaned every day of our 11 night stay with fresh towels every day.

Staff:-
The staff were very polite and always helpful. The hotels entertainment team were great with all the kids and even though it was august somehow managed to remember all the kids names, activities were split into age groups with activities throughout the day and at the kids disco in the evening. My daughter loved all the activities and won a couple of games and had her certificate presented to her on stage in the evening.

Pools:
Around the pools were plenty of sun beds but you needed to be down at the pool by 9.30 to reseve them if you wanted a specific space, Three pools, standard but functional and always room in at least 1 for a swim or play.

Evening Entertainment:-
In house entertainment was mixed, sometimes brilliant, sometimes Hi Di Hi but they always tried hard, every 2 - 3 nights outside entertainment came in which was brilliant, Jacksons tribute great, motown tribute fab, Parrot show, Broadway show great, the kids were allowed on stage with the acts which they loved and made them feel part of the act.

Food / Drink:-
4 different food options which was great with 2 kids, Main restaurant open 8 - 10, 1 - 3 and 6.30 - 9 for main meals , buffet style, great selection of food each time including loads of fish dishes. Poolside bar open 10am - 6pm severing fast food, make your own sandwiches and salads. Pizzeria open 12 - 12 offering pasta and pizza all day and after 9pm food from the main restaurant, Bar-b-Q, open 6 - 9pm daily, you food is cooked to order and you get to eat looking out over the beach. Drinks, the kids had an endless supply of soft drinks and the hotels bar was open 12 -12 and the pool bar 10 - 6 and 7 - 12 for evening entertainment for alcohol, we always got severed quickly even with some queue’s but not that big and no more than can be expected in high season. Wine and soft drinks also avialiable in the main restaurant and pizzeria.

Location:-
The hotels location is amazing overlooking a brilliant beach that is just 2 mins. walk away. The beach was very busy as it was August but we always found a space, crystal clear water with literally hundreds of fish swimming round you. The kids hand fed fish every day and the beach is lifeguarded, take your mask and snorkel.

On the way to the beach is a place you can pick up coastal boat trips to Porto Cristo, a great day out. We also caught the local bus , stop directly outside hotel , to there again as it was such a nice place.

Calas de Majorca is however not that great, the only downside of the holiday, a few bars and shops in a square 5 mins. walk from hotel, just no atmosphere, ok for kids holiday shopping but have been to so many better resort centres.

Other stuff:-
Free Wi-Fi in the reception area, Hotel provided packed lunches for you when you wanted to go away for the day, which was a great added bonus, small games room for kids. Most evenings a market stall was set up at the back of the entertainment area which sold all the usual stuff kids and adults wanted such as lighty up toys and very cheap "designer" handbags and watches

Overall a great holiday and a great hotel for food, location and entertainment with great staff.
