“Absolutely fantastic!!”

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 weeks in April (both are aged 24) for a relaxation holiday and boy did we get just that! On arrival we where quickly sorted at reception and up to our rooms. The rooms had more than enough space with 2 single beds which just pushed together. A bathroom with both bath and shower and a big Worktop to put all cleaning essentials. (we all know how women can be like). Opened the curtains to the balcony door to realise we had been given a sea view room without paying the extra!! Hotel is a fair size with loads to do inside the grounds crazy golf tennis courts. And like I said with this being a relaxing holiday for the both of us we just lazed round the pool enjoying the sun and making use of the all inclusive drink. And we sure made use of that!!

Over all this holiday is the best we have both been on. Everything about the ponent playa and Cala dor is breath taking. I may only be 24 and some people might think I haven't had many holidays so can't complain. Between me and my partner we have been to most places and have to say we will definitely be returning here sometime this year and maybe even for years to come!!

“Expect a 2 star experience”

I stayed at this hotel while visiting Majorca in the summer. We enjoy staying at nice, boutique style hotels, so I will admit that our expectations are a little high. With that said, this hotel is ranked as a 3 star, but it's honestly more of a 2 star. First of all, it was PACKED, so busy the staff was running around, disorganized, and unable to actually be helpful. Oddly, we didn't get there until 10PM and it was still that busy. It's kind of like going to a cheap hotel in Panama City, Florida during spring break...really bad so set your expectations low. I would not recommend this hotel or ever go back. The rooms are gross, there are too many people at the hotel, and the breakfast was so busy that we couldn't even find a place to sit. I honestly think the only reason we could even fall asleep was because we were exhausted and just needed a place to sleep.

“Fab views, good food”

Stayed here in Sept with my Partner, this hotel is a saga hotel so a lot of older couples here. The view from our room was fantastic right overlooking the sea. The food was good and varied and always hot and restocked quickly. The room itself was comfortable and cleaned daily but it didnt have a fridge and the nearest drinks machine was out by the front gate, so bit of a walk for a bottle of water in the morning. Very nice hotel right on the beach. Wouldnt think it would be suitable for a lads weekend or even a young couple as a bit of an more matur crowd here.

“A fantastic hotel, with a special feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

We stayed here in October 2011 HB with Thomas Cook. T/Cook were very efficient and professional as usual. The resort of Cala D'Or comprises about 6 closely located sandy coves, or calas, and the Ponent Playa sits in an outstanding position right on the beach at Cala Ferrera which has the biggest and most attractive beach/cove of them all. Literally 12 steps down from the grounds of the hotel and your feet are on the sand - fantastic! There is also a large sun terrace from where you can sit and look out over the water if you don't want to go on the beach. At the end of this is where the glass-bottomed boat calls in too. The shops/bars begin just round the corner from the hotel and then run straight into Cala D'Or itself about 15 minutes stroll away. Also round the corner are numerous car hire places, the land train stop, and the proper bus stop with a direct route to Palma. I would like to thank Rosario and the other receptionists for being so friendly and for the wonderful room that we had (746). From there we could look left and see low mountains, all the apartments opposite and then down below the entire beach and deep blue sea. It was beautiful. The room was nicely decorated with huge wardrobe/drawer space and kept spotlessly clean along with everywhere else. Hotel facilities are good including crazy golf, tennis court, pool with loungers and bar, terrace bar, small indoor pool, and 2 large interior bar/lounges. The activities team were always friendly and enthusiastic, and I particularly enjoyed the French bowls with the lovely Miriam. There is a really nice mix of nationalities here - UK, French, Dutch etc and the choice for breakfast reflected every taste with cereal, egg/bacon, toast, cheeses, yoghurt, rolls, crossants etc. Evening meal also had a large choice with fish, meat, salads, stews etc. plus cakes or fruit for dessert so the food was good quality and nicely prepared. My only woe was that I got an upset stomach 2 days before we came back, although anything could have caused this. On our last evening meal we were given a free glass of champagne as a gift, and on what should have been our last full day a free lunchtime meal from the restaurant. Then when reception found our flights were altered and we would be in the hotel longer, we got another free lunch on our actual departure day! Plus they let us keep our room on at no charge until the coach came to pick us up in the afternoon. THANKYOU! There is a good spirit about this hotel that I have not encountered before. We never wanted this holiday to end. The hotel actually closed the day we left yet the high standards were maintained throughout. Fantastic. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Get a high room for the best views whichever room you're in.

“end of summer chill out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

Booked the October half term week for my husband and i to have a total chill out and relax. We arrived late due to a short delay with flight to find that food and drinks were waiting for us in the dining area, a nice touch. Our room was clean and although it did not have a mini fridge or hairdryer this was not a problem. A hairdryer can be borrowed from the reception at no extra cost. We were on the all inclusive deal and everything really was all inclusive. There were quite a few Saga guests and they all seemed to be enjoying the relaxed atmosphere. No problem in the restaurant at all with seating at any time although i think in high season it could get quite crowded. The bar area was large and spacious and served coffees and alcoholic /soft drinks all day. We did not get involved with the entertainment but all the younger guests looked like they were having lots of fun. The pool area was busy all the time but this was not a problem for us as we like the beach. We hired a car through the hotel and visited the caves of drach then drove through the mountains for lunch in Soller. The staff were all a little older and very experienced in customer service and really knew how to look after their guests. Our week away was purely to relax reading books on the beach and just chill out, and it was a perfect location for just that at the end of the summer season.

Room Tip: Front of hotel rooms overlook the pool and get sun all day on balcony, back of hotel rooms have sea...
