Just returned from one week at these apartments. On arrival we were given an awful apartment. view of high wall and air conditioning units we think. Bathroom was filthy. never seen such a dirty toilet. We asked for another apartment and were told none available.They sent a maid to clean toilet, she eventually used some industrial cleaner to clean the bowl but didnt touch the dirty seat. 3 hours later we saw people leaving so my husband asked again to be moved. This time there was a younger man on reception and he , after making a phone call, offered us another apartment. Although up five flights of stairs, not easy when you are pensioners, at least this one was cleaner and had nice view over rooftops of the marina. Maid not seen all week , she finally turned up 6 pm on thursday to change beds etc when we were leaving 7.am saturday. No reception after 8pm, Pool area quite pleasant but cigarette ends and rubbish left around the floor . Cleanliness at these apartments is very poor. Would never stay there again. Shame they could be lovely in right hands as area lovely.

we stayed at this self catering apartment for seven nights and it was long enough their was no entertainment of an evening apart from a wed when their was a bbq at 10 euro per person their was no bar after 7 in the evening the local shop spar shut at 8 30 their was plenty of restaurants but not many bars we found self catering to be expensive costing around 40 euros per evening for 4 of us . the pool side bar run by scot t was ok but limited to what they served breakfast was good value . the pool was lovely opened at 9 till 9 it was set in lovely gardens which you could walk through no seating though the beach was a good 25 min walk very small cost 18 euros to hire sun beds outrageous .the appartment was ok very basic not super clean but when you have cleaned it yourself its ok for seven nights you can put up with it as the weather was great will we go back no but we did meet some really nice people. the air con was free.

We have just returned from Cala d'Or.
We stayed at Puerto Del Sol which is in a fabulous location for trips to the beach and evening stroles into Cala d'Or and Cala Egos. Our apartment was clean and spacious (great size for 3 but equally spacious for 4) although the decor was very tired and dated. Maid service is very eratic and having had our apartment cleaned 2 days after arriving and towels changed 2 days after this it then took another 6 days before we had clean towels and the sheets weren't changed at all.
The complex has 3 pools but only the 1 next to the snack bar has sunloungers hence this was the busiest pool with sun lounger so close it was hard to walk around them. 1 of the other pools could be seen from our apartment so we spent a few days there lying on the floor and then discovered the 3rd pool which was by far the best one. Luckly someone had carried a few (6) sunlounger to this pool. The only pool with a Life Ring was the snack bar pool. The other 2 pools had places for them but they were empty a big worry as 1 pool was 2.8 meters deep.
We found out from the guy running the snack bar that only 70 of 300 apartments were being used and as you walked around the complex this was very evident. The main restaraunt and bar were closed but as we were so close to the marina ( fantastic views from our balcony) it didn't matter too much. The kids club was also closed.
The kitchen in the apartment was basic and had minimal equipment (we had pasta one night and a salad another !) No fire extiguisher outside apartmentseven though there was a place for one which was concerning.
Eating and drinking out was quite expensive for the 3 of us with an average meal with a drink about 45 Euro. If you have something to celabrate head for Gadus on the Marina for excellent food and the most amazing view of the Marina, it's a bit pricey but worth it. The supermarket had limited choice but most prices were ok and there was a bigger supermarket in the town 10 mins walk away with a lot more choice.
Don't miss Portopetra just around the bay 6 Euro taxi ride and the many beautiful coves that can be walked to ( my husband did this but to hot for me ) or get the bus.
Lastly don't miss The Smugglers on the Marina , Yvette and Tony will give you a warm welcome and they have loads of local advice on restaraunt and places to visit. Or just go in for drink and a chat with two lovely people.

we arrived on the 14th august 2011 me ,my husband and toddler. when we arrived to our room after an hour wait on getting it cleaned there where a few things missing from the apartment No pots ,no microwave plate and no shower spray on the shower head and no air conditioning. and it wasnt that clean. My husband went to reception and got two very large pots and the microwave plate and was told that someone would fix the shower and air conditioning the following day which we accepted.The following day we went to the beach which isnt that far away and its a lovely little cove and when we returned our shower had a new spray but the air conditioning was still not working .Much to our horror while getting my son ready to go out for the night we discovered that all my sons clothes where missing from the wardrobe. After a search of the apartment we then discovered that my husbands shoes our camera and all my jewellery were all gone.There was no sign of a broken entry and when my husband reported this to reception they came and looked at the windows and door of apartment and said someone must have used a key. They were not interested in what had happen to us and said we had to contact the police which we did the following day. The hotel is run very much on a shoe string and I would never recommend these apartments to anyone but we would return to cala d`or as the marina is just lovely.
