We booked a cheap, last minute getaway to get some sunshine. Having read the reviews here on Trip Advisor we weren't sure entirely what to expect. There seems to be 2 hotels with similar names that I think causes some confusion when it comes to the reviews that you read here. There's the Apartments Cala D'Or Park and another complex called Cala D'Or Club Park. We stayed at the Apartments Cala D'Or Park.
For the small amount of money that we paid for our 5 nights, I was pleasantly suprised. We stayed in room 212 which I thought was a spacious 1 bed room appartment. It was basic - it had what we needed as we planned to eat out anyway. I thought the standard of cleaning was good. The rooms are serviced every other day.
We appreciated the coffee that was available from the Pool bar - I like espressos and they made good espressos for only 1 Euro!
The appartments are only a short walk from the beach which is lovely. The centre is about a 5 to 7 minute walk and there are numerous restaurants to choose from, as well as supermarkets if you want to buy food to prepare at the appartments.
The staff that we met were very friendly and polite. We enjoyed the benefits of being able to sit around the pool or wander down to the beach to do some sun bathing.
Be aware that if you stay in one of the appartments at the front of the building you will be able to hear the music/ karaoke from the bars on that street in the evening. They tend to stop at 12 midnight. It didn't bother us, but it's worth noting.
Overall, for what we paid, I thought it was good value for money. We wanted to travel out of season because we knew the resorts would be quieter - and it was. Weather, for October was great....29 to 30 degrees while we were there. If you want luxury accomodation, then don't book to stay here because you will be disappointed. If you are happy with basic, clean accomodation, in a great location for the beach, restaurants etc then this is an appropriate option.

I don't really know how to describe this hotel other than for you to look at the pictures!

On arrival we were told that we were at the wrong hotel. I stamped my feet and said that I had the booking confirmation with me and I wasn't going anywhere. After a while the spanish lady backed down and sorted us a room. I don't know if it was due to this that caused everything that follows!

We were given a room out of the main complex so we had to walk past the pool, accross a road, through a garden and up a flight of (unlit) stairs.

The appartment was very basic and not well kept. The pots and pans were very tired and we didn't want to use them. The sofa in the lounge was a sofa bed that I wouldn't wish on anybody as when my mum dropped something underneath we went to move it and the whole thing fell apart.

The bathroom was tiny. The door caught on the sink as you opened and shut it. The mirror and taps were filthy with mould and mildew. The shower was rubbish, either boiling or freezing. The toilet seat was broken.

The bedroom seemed ok until we woke the next morning to find ants in our suitcases and wardrobes. - We visited an english run cafe and my mum asked the lady if she had problems with ants. She said that they bought a spray called Zum and sprayed it once a year round their windows and doors and never had problems. We bought a can of this for 6 euro's and iy got rid of the problem. But it does beg the question that why can't the hotel treat all their rooms once a year with this stuff???

The balcony was dangerous. The door to get out was stiff and shook the whole room when opening, and the pane of glass wobbled. It had nails hammered in where this has had a quick fix but it is dangerous. You then step onto the filthy balcony. The white patio charis are grey with hardened dirt and the window frames, and more importantly the balcony rails are chewed up with woodworm. (the pictures dont lie). The hotel obviously know about this problem as again they have part fixed one of the rails but just left the other which if you lean on could fall through it was that wobbly.

We were there for four days and the appartment did not get cleaned. We had to chase the cleaners down for more loo roll.

The pool area is lovely, but if you dont like being splashed by children on the slide in one pool or splashed by adults playing balls games in the other then it's not for you.
The pool snack bar was OK. Nothing special but pricey for 2 cups of cola now and again.
There are lots of sunbeds but so many rude people 'reserve' their sunbeds with towels and then don't even use them. There is a sign displayed that says that they will be removed by management but we never saw this happen.
The public toilets are a disgrace. I walked in and ran straight out and into the inside bar to use the lovely ones in there.

Whilst sunbathing my mum got talking to a regular who advised that if you book direct with the hotel, they put you in the 'nicer' rooms around the pool.

The location of this hotel was great. lots to see and do.

I think this review would have been a whole lot better had they address the issues they so clearly already knew about.

On the last day, we were left with a survey and a request to leave a good review on trip advisor to recieve something free (i think a bottle of wine) when you stayed there again. I wrote all my concerns down on the survey, but unfortunately, don't think i'll be getting any freebies!

Firstly I would like to thank the receptionist that was on the night we left 10/10/11 there was a mix up with are transfer and she was very helpful.Yes the apartments are basic,but you get what you pay for. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.The rooms need updated but were clean we had clean linen and towels, the food was very good, we were pleased with everything . We were in 409 which overlooked the pool. Close to beach and entertainment.We could,nt fault the pool and bar area, again I would like to thank all the staff for making are holiday a good one

to start, the apartments are in need of modernisation badly, the rooms are very basic and utenciles are dated, theres no tv in room , and some of the locations of the rooms on the complex are like dungeons, some of the electrical wiring is to be desired, the baths have rust in them, to say the rooms are a shambles, the rest of complex is ok , the staff on the pool bar are very slow in serving you, the pool area is clean, when the owners dogs are not peeing everywhere! the reception staff are very helpful and VICTOR the night bar man/porter is great. LOCATION, the location of the complex is ideal for getting out and about , very near centre for shopping and the cala gran beach is only 100 meters away.if its a cheap accomodation just to get your head down at night then this is the place,
