We booked our holiday direct with Thomsons. We were so excited at the prospect of staying at this hotel with all the amenities it has and also it was in the brochure as 4 star so we knew we would have a good hotel. On arrival we were asked to get out at Azul Park which we thought was a bit strange as we hadnt booked this hotel. On booking in at reception we were informed that we would be staying at Cala Azul Garden (this is a 3 star accommodation and not 4 as stated in the brouchure) so we had to trapze across with all our luggage to the other hotel. We complained to the rep and also the hotel about not having our accommodation at the Esmeralda and were told that if we wanted to be transferred to the Esmeralda we would need to pay for an upgrade which would cost us 16 euros per day which we couldnt afford. On a daily basis we had to trapze over to the Esmeralda to enable us to use their facilities.

We stayed for a week at cala azul gardens from 13 - 20 sept ,originally we were booked into cala azul park and had requested a sea view. On arrival we were moved like many other people and were rather disappointed, we were put into 221 azul gardens, which was adequate , but didnt get my sea view , i did complain but to no avail, it would of cost us 112 euros for seaview, but we decided to stay where we were. We looked over gardens at the back of the which hotel was shaded by trees , didnt get much sun. Cala azul gardens was nice and quiet and clean, the pool was very nice, staff were very friendly, all i all we had luvly time and the resort of cala dor is a luvly place , we will return. we just think that Thomas cook need to advertise this hotel complex better and explain to people when booking , that you may be put in any of the 3 hotels in this complex , it would save a lot of people a great deal of dissapointment .

We stayed at the Gardens from 16th Sept for 7 ngts. We booked the Azul Park specifically for the beach location, however on arrival as with many other Thomas Cook customers we were informed we were staying in the garden which is 1 minute up the road. The Thomas Cook rep Kirsty was very understanding and helpful and said that nothing she could do and this happens all the time. It appears the rude thomas cook rep has been moved on and Kirsty is really friendly and helpful.

On arrival at the gardens we were pleased to be given room 218 which overlooked the pool, the rooms are slightly dated but you cannot fault them for being clean, they could do with a lick of paint and updating but iin their defence it is a 3 star hotel.

The location is in the cheaper end of town, it near the tacky pubs etc but a ten minute walk and you are in the centre of cal a dor with the great restaurants.

We would stay again @ the gardens, it is good value for money, although if money is not the issue then stay @ the Sa Marina which is fantastic.

Not good from Thomas Cook however!

Do not worry about going here rather than the main hotel, this one was far better, we were self catering so going over for meals wasn't a problem . always room round the pools and not lots of organised games and noise like the other pools,.The rooms were spotless ,perhaps just a little bit dated with the bedding .We always had breakfast on our balcony overlooking the pool and then ate out in the numerous restaurants just a short walk away.
This was a nice quiet hotel which was a pleasure to enjoy.
