Iworked in cala d'or years ago, as a timeshare salesman( yeah ok i know i was gullable then) but good excuse for a 6 month holiday. At that time the antares was a hostel, you could book it for a night or stay in it as a resident, we used to hire the pool on the roof as it was always quiet up there for romancing the girls. When i was married i then took my wife to the same place to show her the town, as its my home from home, i know the place inside out, all the different coves, bars,restaurants all within a few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff are very friendly, the food is adequate and tastes rather nice, can exit hotel from front or rear, has a bar at the front, and shops at the rear, pool table downstairs was well used, although some shots can be tight.If i ever go back ( been 8 times) wife getting fed up with it. I would book antares, although its a lot more quieter than it was when i was first there, the drinks are expensive as all the pubs and clubs are owned by the same guy, half the discos have shut down, as with the , better pubs need to know anything give me a shout and il do my best to advise, a lot of nice places you have to find yourself

Went with a friend after finding good deal on net,didnt expect too much but happily surprised,small but clean, staff lovely ,very helpful and friendly,food basic but adequate,brilliant location,loads of bars and great resturants mins away,rooms fairly small but very clean,all we needed,rooftop pool may not be suitable for small children,loungers on area below pool itself,no lifegaurd,very exposed to sun,but we loved it for quiet swim before dinner,little bar at back of hotel great for people watching,would happily go again,dont expect the Hilton and you'll have a lovely time.

Hotel was ok,you get what you pay for.Rooms cleaned everyday,beds not too bad.Breakfast has 2 hot options each morning eg;sausage/bacon &eggs/beans but do not pay for half board as the restaurant (using that term very lightly) you eat in is dispicable-filthy tables,extremely bad service when they know you're staying at the antares,& 2 very poor choices for dinner-our 1st night was a frozen burger with a handful of fries or a small frozen piece of fish with same fries.Gave them a second chance & it was even worse so we complained in hotel.Other guests who also complained told us food did get better but it would have been nice if the hotel had come to us & asked us to go back to restaurant as they had reviewed everything.We had no intention of going back but it would have been nice to have a response to our complaint.It's the TALAMANCA restaurant if anyone reads this so DO NOT eat here.On a plus hotel is really close to everything - shops,bars,good restaurants & also the best beach (cala gran) is 2 mins walk.

The hotel is very basic.Beds lumpy. No air conditioning or kettle. Fans can be hired. Safe cost 2 Euros per day. Hotel is in the centre of the bars and restaurants but gets quieter around 1am. Staff are very helpful but don't moan about food. Breakfast options of beans and eggs(eggs reheated. Very Curly!!) Don't get excited! Dinner in Hostel restuarant 10 mins walk away (not next door like I was told). Alot of complaints only offered two options each night after that Its take it or leave it. Food not suitable for children! My 9yr old came away hungry most nights.

Pool is on the roof top. The pool is very deep.there is no shallow end. Most of the kids did not use this because of the depth. Ended up going to another hotel so that my child could get use out of pool.
