“Great Little Hotel”

My partner an i stayed here for a week in sept 11. The htl is right in the hart of everything. The staff were great. Our room was always clean,as so was the bathroom. For a 1star hlt it was very good. The breakfast was the only down fall, but if you wanted a full English it was only 3 euro`s. All in all i/we will return to this htl as its great value. Thank you to all the staff that made us very welcome.

“Excellent hotel”

Firstly I am not going to pretend that the Hotel Antares is another Hilton, that it is not, it is a little dated and very basic, but for the money we paid me and my wife were very pleased with this little gem of a place.
Although dated the place is kept spotlessly clean by the hard working staff, the towels were changed twice in our week stay and that is what is says on the tin “every 3 days to be precise”.
The only place that was a little unkempt was the rooftop terrace and pool area and according to a guest that was a regular visitor this was probably due to the fact that there was a severe water shortage on the island and they could not use the hose, but saying that it was still a lovely place to lay in the sun, peaceful and private with views across the rooftops that made you feel that you really was in a Mediterranean country.
The pool again was a little dated but very quaint and a real novelty to have your own private little pool area on top of a roof looking out across the town.
The food was more than adequate for our weeks stay and both me and the wife found it very nice, usually a couple of meat options each night, a fish option and a salad option, in my opinion more than enough to please most people.
The breakfast was basic, boiled eggs, toast, jam and cereals but again more than adequate to start your day.
The rooms were basic but great for a base for your holiday, be aware that there is no fridge, no TV, no hairdryer and no tea making facilities, just 2 beds and furniture and a bathroom but again always clean and big enough with a nice little balcony.
The two biggest plus points by far was the excellent position, out of the front entrance and you was directly opposite the main restaurant/town area and out of the back entrance and you was literally 2 minutes from the biggest beach, and the biggest plus point was definitely the wonderful staff, hard working, always helpful and always friendly.. a very big thank you to Araimey (not sure of the spelling, sorry) the dining room waiter and his lovely girlfriend Dorota who was always hard at work keeping the hotel spotless and lovely Martyna on reception who was always so helpful and always had a warm smile for you, their warmth and friendliness made our stay so much more enjoyable, all the staff were excellent.
We would definitely use this hotel again, dated yes, basic yes, but full of old character, central to everything without being too affected by any noise, good food and absolutely wonderful staff, for the money this hotel gets full marks from me and that’s exactly what I’m giving it.

“Cheap and Cheerful”

To the point.
We didn't pay much to stay at the Antares, £170 half board for the 2 of us for one week,so based on that we could not complain ,the staff make the best of what they have to work with, all the staff are polite and would be an asset to any hotel.
The room was basic but functional a little noisy at night but due to the hotels central location that's to be expected.
The pool was better than we expected on the roof and a great suntrap but don't bring the kids.
Close to two beaches about 5 min walk.
Bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
Food,Breakfast is a strange combination of 2 hot selections and toast, jam, cereal, tea coffee (don't be late). Dinner Salad, onions, beetroot cold options, chips or potatoes and 2 hot options.(don't be late). We booked half board only because it was only a few pounds more expensive than B&B,so had nothing to lose.
The bar is friendly and drinks are not as expensive as some local bars.
This hotel is ideal for a young couple on a budget,if you don't expect to much you wont be disappointed. There is a relaxed atmosphere at this hotel and it is good value for money.

stayed here last year , hotel was really handy for everything and our stay was good but dont expect the breakfast to blow you away , it seems to be 2 items aday from a full english so if you do stay the week by the time you leave you will have had a full english brekkie over the week =) evening meals were down the road and round the corner then up the road (not as close as lead to believe) when you sit down in the restraunt they give you a menu which you look at and think this isnt bad until they find out your from the Antares then the menu is snatched away and your given another menu with not alot to choose from on so all in all hotel is good but go elsewhere for meals
